find a decent one on ebay for like 3-400 dollars, spend another 1-200 on vinyl rolls to get you going.

if you want to print them, spend about 5 grand on an old used mimaki and if it's broken spend about another 2-3 to fix it. make sure you have a way of picking it up because they are huge and heavy.

make sure you have a space that can handle the smell and live in a place where chemical fumes won't be mistaken for a meth lab. you'll need a good sized room in your house with ventilation. Also make sure that you have climate control for the winter because ink doesn't like cold.

be sure to have a computer that you don't use anymore run all the stuff.

I will be doing custom printing soon though since I just bought a printer. With vinyl cuts I don't have the time to do jobs for other people other than one-offs or whatever I'm selling though, so you'll have to go to a print shop for those kinds of things.
