Reminder that this thing was the 930 turbo of its time. It even killed 2 journalists on a press launch and renault had to cover it up at the time because it would seriously hurt sales.

When the phase II was close to it's release, renault held a press launch for a bunch of journalists to test drive it on a mountain road. I don't remember where it was, either france or spain. So, 2 journalists took a car for a spin in the twisties, without ever driving it before, and apparently pushed it hard. Next thing we know, a V6 clio was found at the bottom of the ravine with 2 dead passengers in it. There was no footage of the car crash, since it was an off the record joyride. Renault obviously did not released the info to the public and made the few that knew to not spill the beans. The story got surfaced a couple of years later I think.
It is a scary little car I tell you.
