The best thing France has ever done. No wonder it stayed so much in the market.

It was never as good as the Bedford Rascal.

Isn't that just a rebadged Suzuki Carry?
I knew a guy who had a bright orange one with an SR20 swap. You couldn't brake too hard or the back eheels would come off the ground.

It is, must be very practical
Nah, I'd rather commend the French on their superb hydropneumatic suspensions, as they help mechanics keep their jobs

What do you mean you have to replace rubber hoses after a few years? That sounds so unreliable.
Renault 4 : 1961-1994
Citroën 2cv : 1948-1990

Thats a good van, but France has built a lot of great cars that lasted decades in production.
Their simplicity is why people love them. A lot like LandRover in a way.
Except you won't get a polonidal sinus from riding in one.

Suzuki Carry - 55 years and still going
2CV - 42 years and dead
Renault 4 - 33 years and done

To be fair, the 2CV, Renault 4 and C15 were unotouched during all those years while the Carry has been updated with each generation.

VW Beetle 1938-2003
65 years baby
2CVs and Renault 4s are still used by farmers and businesses for delivery shit today. I bet Citroen would still make them if it weren't for safety regulations.
Pretty neat desu.
You're confusing best and most useful. Those are just useful econoboxes. This is the single best thing France has ever done.

I used to work for a firm that had a C15 as a runaround. It was as slow as fuck but you could get a huge amount of crap in it (750 Kg payload, I seem to remember) and it was super cozy to drive with the world's most efficient heater.
Ah, happy days driving around rural Yorkshire listening to Mark and Lard on Radio 1 in that shitbox.
