If it's anything like my '90 Accord, they're pretty solid cars if they were treated properly.

If it has had only one or two owners, 300,000 miles, and was well maintained, you bet it'll last at least another 100k.

Despite being the sixth owner of my car and it was treated poorly by it's previous owners, the biggest issue I had with my car was the transmission solenoids and computer.

Found a Honda Accord Ex V6 Coupe for $4,000
It's got 217,000 miles, but just got a new timing belt
It runs silently, runs smoothly, and handles well.
Its previous owner seems to have taken very good care of it; the AC works perfectly, too.

Is it a smart buy?
>>
>>15172402
what about
a bb2 prelude
>>
>>15172426
It's a 2004, I should say.
It's got pretty good gas mileage, but it's also got pretty decent handling and acceleration, being under 6 seconds from 0-60 (not that I really care much about get-up-and-go).
>>
>>15172426
If it's a manual, then fuck yeah.

If it's auto, then meh...

4 banger's better with an auto than a V6, since it'll be less likely to crap itself.
>>
>>15172419
You can see 450whp or more on stock internals with a turbo. I would aim for 05-06 rsxs, has most in common with the type r
>>
>>15171922
Just set up an appointment to have these installed.

I'm not bothering with the installation kit; I can get locking lug nuts later.
>>
>>15172448
What do you mean "crap itself?"
It's an auto.
Is there any way to install a manual?

>>
>>15172479
The automatic transmission has been known to fail on 6th gen V6 Accords.

They've made improvements on the 7th gen, but they're still prone to fail, but it's not as likely.

Don't know how much a swap is; probably similar to how much putting a new tranny in, which costs at least $1,000.

He's right though

The auto V6s are prone to failure, especially at that many miles that thing could fail at any time. I'm surprised its still working at that many miles, I'd be even more surprised if it doesn't shift kind of funky already. Stay away from it. You could easily find a 4 cylinder for that price with less mileage, Since power doesn't matter to you, there's no reason to get the v6 anyways. Better gas mileage too.

tl;dr get a 4 cylinder accord

i should either replace the fucked up engine for a new one. his rough' estimate to me was 4k max. as well as other websites tell me..
the body has 120,000 miles on it.

or scrap it and start all over again looking for another car. starting over is just as hard as it unto my wallet

Does it make noise turning in one direction and not the other or just never makes noise while turning? If it's a wheel bearing usually the noise gets louder around corners that put a high load on that wheel. Otherwise I don't know... brakes maybe?

I'm fighting a similar issue in my car except it's loud and annoying.

I want a comfortable ride in my car, 2002 civic si

What kind of suspension should I be looking at? Do I need to buy coilovers? The previous owner put lowering springs on the front and cannot handle bumps larger than 3mm so I basically want to un-fuck my car

I found this

http://raceland.com/honda-civic-ep3-coilovers.html?gclid=CJT6rsTch80CFYdlfgod8FMCcA

but I am hesitant to purchase it since it kinda seems cheap. A friend told me to get stock shocks and buy new springs, or something along those lines...

What should I be looking at /o/?
>>
>>15184089
Getting stock springs and shocks would be the most comfy option
>>
>>15184089
It's a very stiff car to begin with... what you want is softer spring rates with the stock shock, even stock springs are pretty stiff. It's not a luxary car so I suggest buying a different car

The stiffness isn't the issue it's the shitty lowering springs on the front of my car that make it rougher than it needs to be

>>
>>15185506

>>
>>15184089

It's probably not the springs you're feeling most of the time, unless it's bottoming out constantly or it's a heavy car on shitty progressives. Shocks play a bigger role in ride quality than springs do.

If they put aftermarket shocks on there, or coil overs, just get stock stuff and put it back. If you're 100% sure it's the springs you're feeling, just swap springs back to stock and see if it helps.

The racelands will probably ride worse than stock stuff. Most (cheap) aftermarket shocks are valved waaay harder than they need to be, so they "feel" aggressive/sporty. If you get adjustable ones, you can at least turn the damping down to full soft and it'll help, but even then it'll probably be stiffer stock anyway.

>>15190912
Already went to the Acura one by my house two weeks ago to try and get my hands on an oem alternator, told me they stop manufacturing the parts for my car so I'm out of luck, which figures since it's 26 years old. Unless Civic filters from the past 15 years are still in stock at the Honda dealership, I'm probably not going to be able to find an oem filter. I'm also afraid of having my pump fail on me, since the filter doesn't seem to have been changed at any point in the cars life and I hear changing filters can cause some pumps to fail from the sudden increase in flow from the new filter. I've no problem doing the repairs, I just don't want to be out in the middle of the freeway and then suddenly have my engine die on me, knowing SoCal drivers someone would likely end up smashing into me as I try to get to the shoulder.

I bought a 4th gen prelude because I think it looks better than 2nd and 3rd Gen Integras, and has one of the best asses of any 90s car.
Not a fan of how 5th gen preludes look though.
Just preference really.
I just love how fucking small my car is, don't care much for speed or racing, I just like having a car that I love and get to drive every day.
>>
2nd geb Integras look amazing except for the God damn xboxhuge rear windshield. That was the only part of that car that looked awful as fuck when I had mine.
They look sexy as fuck lowered with the right body kit though.

What are the best shift points for an 06 EX for maximum efficiency? I usually go around 3k and I get 30 mpg city. Any way to improve that?
>>
>>15196866
Look at owners manual. 3k is usually what Honda recommends.
>>
>>15196817
I've never put a body kit on a car ever, and I have no plans to. But the non ultra-riced 2nd Gen teggys with a body kit that doesn't look gay as fuck looks beautiful.

Geico commercial?

Rain calmed down a lot. I just hate the heavy shit I can't see through. At least tips are guaranteed.

In 6-8 months (hopefully sooner) I plan on buying a beater on craigslist to learn and tinker with. Would anyone happen to know what Honda most closely matches an 03 TL-S, in terms of design and engine bay layout? Hoping to apply things I learn with the beater to my DD.

Got a '16 Civic and have purchased a dual horn. Any ideas how much I should expect a shop to charge for the install?

Pic related.

I'm not ready to die bruh

>>15198401
Yeah deliveries are non stop right now so that's a plus. Though keeping my windows up and heat on full blast because of foggy windows is making me sweat like crazy.

>dual horn

Why come?
>>
>>15198543
2016 Civic stock horn sounds like the road runner. I just wanted something that will actually get attention when I need to use it.
>>
>>15197938
That could be a pretty sleeper set up. I know kraftwerks makes a supercharger kit for it
>>
I saw this white 2014 honda civic si at a dealership. Its got 16600 miles and I got to test drive it before they detailed it. I immediately noticed a scrape on the front bumper about 1.5 feet long.

The clutch is strong and responds well

they want 21k for it

what should I bid normally? I have a tinfoil hat for KBB or edmunds or other internet value sources because I think they under/over value cars to give dealerships a bump

I just bought a 95 Civ ex coupe and the entire header and exhaust system is botched and was botched even more by the previous owner, my question is can anyone recommend a good exhaust system that doesn't sound like crap?
