Mainefag here. They don't handle winter and snow well for some reason. Road salt rusts them right out, much more quickly than most domestic trucks. Worked on a construction crew for a little while, all the workers that had Toyotas killed them in a couple of years

Always on road, no towing, occasional hauling of transformers over capacity. Stop and go LA traffic full time. It's a great truck, but I'll allow that there are better heavy duty trucks that have more capabilities, it's just that I don't need that. I have exactly what I need and no more, and it serves me well.

Look at a 4runner, just as good maybe but tend to go for reasonable to cheap.

On another note I got a 3 year old Tundra 5.7 4x4 SR5 that looked mint for $22k. It's a lot of truck for the money, been super happy with it. Much better value than a used Tacoma.

In other other news I also have a 2003 F-250 super duty that had 20,000 original miles I bought for $3500. That was good value too.
