I don't know, for me set up might help get a few tenths down, and feel more safe (i.e. not oversteer at the last corner).
I know I'm slow because I don't know how to attack the corner properly, I'm shit at braking.
When I race against fast guys and later I revise their line and braking points and style it's just smooth and consistent.
Mine is aggressive (bad) and I tend to either lock, brake too late, or I can't gauge brake % around the corner entry, so I'm bad at hitting the apex unless I break 100%, then coast to apex.

I've driven both. The actual road surface at Bathurst felt as smooth as Kira's legs even with the dreaded M™ Sport™ Package™ but the main difference is the camber and elevation changes are sharper and more frequent. So if your setup is completely broken you'd end up with one or more wheels off the ground, but who would use a completely broken setup in the first place
