I figure when it's big enough it shouldn't be too bad. I just try to steer clear of kanji because of complexity for smaller cuts. The fujiwara stickers are more or less peel off with a few details that are still pretty easy ever since I got my cut settings dialed in like what you're saying.

The itsproper guys were pretty easy to work with and just required a vectored image and a purchase order of 5 or more in case you were wondering.

What is the most time consuming part of getting stickers mailed? I worked in an orderly room for a while, sending shit out, and the most time consuming part of it all was stuffing envelopes. Is that about standard for the vendors here, or is it the actual production phase of the process?

Received my stickers from Robust Vinyl. The printing on these is really nice, but I'm a little puzzled by the material choice. Is this supposed to be very thick, rubberized material? Noticed the edges aren't perfectly cut as well, I figured vinyl was cut with a machine but these must have been done by hand. I'm glad I tried them on my laptop first, I wouldn't want to use this material on my cars. I was expecting the standard glossy, thin vinyl.

So I've just had a thought. Why haven't we made the peniston oils stickers from top gear yet? We could even have a nice "scratch" or such over the 'ton' part of peniston to achieve the same effect Clarkson got.

The I in both night and fire is not level with any other letters, the t in might needs to be kerned correctly and/or struck through to match the h's striking, and the e on fire also needs to be kerned correctly. Other than that it's pretty solid.

Actually, on closer inspection, the kerning on most of those letters is awful. I would suggest making each letter it's own layer and hand-aligning them for the best look (and fix the uneven height on the i's)

They're still slightly thicker, and the finish is more like a satin or matte.

I'm not sure why the rubber is peeling off like that, but it likely has to do with the thick outer laminates required heat settings so I think that very high heat must have damaged the rubber
someone else had a problem with the front layer of the think glossy laminate, where if they pulled from the front instead of the back during application they could damage the vinyls printed surface.

I admittedly cut them by hand while I was cutting out boat numbers on the large plotters for the local fishing derby
I've cut a lot of things by hand but I certainly didn't do a good job with that one.

I appreciate your honesty and sincerity man. I really hate to complain because I know you spent time on these, but what I was expecting was something better. If you could re-do them I'd happily go that route, though is a coating necessary on these stickers? The Wat Night slaps I bought from watracing are printed and glossy while still being very thin like normal glossy vinyl, and the printing doesn't come off by scraping with my fingernail or anything. I'd really prefer they're cut out by machine so it's as perfect as possible.

15 mil thickness calendared, and it is by no means cheap stuff.
recently i got some samples from another company and can't say im impressed with theirs, it all seems tinged yellow and is only 3 mil thick with some unspecified statistics, so I'll be doing rigorous tests on them when i have the time.
(though they seem to have included a bonus tips section that says to avoid high resolution print settings which leads me to believe it will be entirely a waste of time if their product cant hold ink well enough)

the laminate is mainly to help with outdoor activity, you might not have been around in February when I was doing physical torture tests on a rubberized coating I was using at the time (it is still my favourite but the fumes are quite toxic and is labour intensive, with a two day curing time) which unfortunately had a chemical issue with a type of uv resistant dye based ink, which resulted in a reprint of those affected, as nothing showed up until about a month afterwards, which is why I had switched to the very thick hard plastic laminate, which of course had problems of its own.

the largest difference is the type of printing processes used, the printer wat racing uses is a small solvent based printer,
the ink I use is a special type that supposedly rated 108 years for color and over 200 years for black and white, and also has scratch resistance, but special media is required, though I admittedly have not attempted yet to 'yolo' and try and print on a cut out sheet of my regular white mactac.
in my torture tests I was subjecting the uncoated printed touwa testers to various chemicals, as well as heating and freezing conditions, and they performed admirably well until you would combine the coin test with
one of my largest goals was making slaps you would run an ice scraper across without having to worry at all, hence the very thick durable materials that in theory should outlive the cars.
really a bit of a pickle.

The laminate on mine is matte, not gloss. The gloss stickers I used to have were pretty thin, but the matte laminate is slightly thicker. I don't really notice the difference when it's on a car short of the finish since it's just a couple mils difference.

Oh okay I was confused. So watracing just does print and that's it, no coating. You do laminating with a matte coating, but used to do gloss. Robust does a sort of rubberized coating.

I think I'd prefer just a regular gloss laminate or no coating at all.
