So as far as I can read its because there is no sun flare or whatever when you drive with them
You dont get random sunshine as you do with some sunglasses (rayban etc)

I've got a pair, great driving glasses. They are super clear and don't actually do a lot of darkening even though from the outside it looks like they would.
