Post car builds so far!


Mine:
Stock other than twin carbs, steel headers, racing exhaust & muffler.

It runs pretty well so far, I've got my valves at 9 and idle screw just enough to have some thin exhaust smoke.

Planning on adding black fenders and some new tires and wheels. Later on when I'm bored I'll probably add some subs and a new headunit.

God damn night time in this game is fucking DARK. Going out for a drive at night is pretty scary

I finished everything with the wheels and fuel tank and all, basically had the engine and everything on the shelves left to assemble when the tool box flipped the fuck out and glitched out of the map

This game is driving me to drink. First I completely destroy the car when I drop the engine in, then after another attempt I can't get the valves to be quiet without killing the engine. Then a radiator hose falls through the ground.

This playthrough, I decided to order the parts first, which is great, except the envelope disappeared in the van and even as I retrace my steps, I can't find it on the road anywhere. I'm also 90% sure it's not clipped into the van somewhere. I'm going to kill myself.

Read the controls.txt and the input section of the game launcher for the control keys.

C to crouch, T to advance time, U to drink beer and open tool box.

Chop wood in the barn near your house for money. Pick up the axe, then hit U, then right click to swing. Click the woodpile for another log.

PGUP and PGDOWN to operate the forklift on the back of the tractor. Jack your car up first to get the forklift under it.

Disable the H shifter option in the main menu. Start the van by holding the ignition. Right click twice to disengage the handbrake. X is clutch, F shifts up, V shifts down.

okay so I think I'm done with this game for the night, I want to warn everyone that if you click a wrench in the toolbox with 2 and then switch to 1 before the new wrench comes up, itll bind your toolbox to 1 and eventually itll glitch out of the map

You can use CE to change values in memory, just use FLOAT or ALL and check first then reduce and recheck till you get nominal.

When you adjust the valves, follow the process outlined above, to keep it running while doing so, adjust one valve then hit the butterfly between every valve adjustment to keep the r's up. If you sit right on top of the carb fully crouched you can scoot into the valve cover and easily access the butterfly and ignition by using Q to reach through the firewall towards the steering column.

Once you take the cap off of the reservoir that you are filling by scrolling back on the mouse wheel while hovering over it, you take the container of fluid you are pouring and do what you would normally do and just turn it upside down in close proximity to the open reservoir and it will fill. The gas can is the exception as it is finite and must be refilled, it holds about half a tank, and will light green intermittently when empty.

I cant recall whichever way it turns, but really it doesn't matter as it only turns so many times but the animation just keeps going when its bottomed out. So you could scroll forward 20 or backwards twenty but theres 8 at the bottom and 5 at the top so the count back to good will be different depending on where you reset to. Im going to make a graph or something showing it all, it'd be much easier to see it visually.

Very Sorry. Ive been lying to everyone about the valves and didn't know it, Ive been going from what I remembered and it was wrong. The numbers are 6 bottom, 7 mid, 5 top. So there is only 18 total settings for the valves. So from bottom 1-6 tick, 7-13 do not tick but i prefer 7, 14-18 tick.

you have to read the haynes manual
and stack the parts in the right order

also don't use the inspection pit - its useless

instead get in the van and press enter when prompted
put on ignition once then hold till it stops cranking
then right click the hand brake twice
push and hold X
push and hold up arrow
press F and release X

turn right onto road then right at the nearest intersection
arrive at tractor
tractor works the same as van but has no handbrake

drive past car then look behind and shift into reverce by pressing V twice

pg up and pg down lift move the forks
lower them till the ground is hit then lift them a little from that

use the floor jack to lift up the back of the car
aim the forks of the tractor so that the left fork is just infront of the rear wheel arch
once you hit the car back up till its strait on the forks
lift it just a little then drive forward
then lift it all the way

the car being so high in the air means you clip though it
but can fall off if your clumsy when putting on parts

the van and the tractor return to where they were each time you save the game
if its too dark to work just go inside and sleep and the fork lift will still be there holding the car in place

Save the game before you drive it so you have a backup. As a workaround I found:

As long as you don't blow the engine or break any glass, it will refurb your car.

I really wish the dev made a button to restore all pieces before making body bending a thing.

Take the van, familiarize yourself with the map. The store is in a dirt path, one end leads to the main highway surrounding the lake of the map, the other one is a short but annoying way into the house spawn

So got my car running now, but it won't move. Shift linkage? Drive gear? Clutch?

Alternator has nothing to do.

The way it works its like this:

Flywheel

Make the clutch and both covers OUTSIDE the engine, just drop them closely one to the otehr and they will become a piece

Place the clutch in

Place the plate that will hold the starter
Place the tranny

If you cant drop the tranny, you need to make sure nothing is attached to it and all bolts are unscrewed, then right click it.

If you cant drop the flywheel, make sure all of the bolts are fully unscrewed and right click it, doesn't matter if the clutch is with it.

I figured out a better way to repair your car. Rather than copying over your defaultES2File.txt file, save the meshsave.txt from a new game and overwrite it whenever your car gets too damaged. That way you can keep your peer and sausage horde.
