I would like for everyone to be in mumble, because there might be a chance we will do a rolling start, to avoid drama in the first corner, because we have to start before the exit. You dont have to talk if you want, jsut be there to hear me call the countdown.

So i am struggling a long time with PCars or Assetto Corsa. i dont really know for what game i have to go.
Requierments for me: Good career mode, Alot of cars to choose from. Must include lots of Asian cars. Drift mode with actual points counting. Community that hosts drifting lobbies. Also trackday lobbies would be great, Drag lobbie and great sounding cars.
So what can you recommand me and why? what are the pros and cons about your recommandation?

Good career mode = sad to say pCARS wins here... AC is just a list of "challenges" to complete.
Alot of cars to choose from = fairly even here (as both put large volume of cars behind paid DLC)... but AC has free mods, so AC wins.
Must include lots of Asian cars = AC Asian Car DLC coming soon, looking really good. Asian DLC for pCARS was pretty lack luster. Pretty sure in this dept AC wins.
Drift mode with actual points counting = Don't think pCARS has drifting at all, AC does have this (with scoring system)... AC wins.
Community that hosts drifting lobbies = Yup... i've seen drift servers on AC.
Also trackday lobbies would be great = casual racing may be easier on pCARS (can't confirm that)
Drag lobbie = don't think i've seen online drag racing with either. But AC does have a drag strip in-game, and pretty sure pCARS does not.
great sounding cars = audio is better in AC in my opinion.
Physics are much better in AC vs pCARS. And I agree with eobet re: pCARS looks good in still images, but AC looks way better when actually driving (minus lack of rain and day/night cycle).

It's been so many years since I last played it (and that was only with the keyboard at that) but from what I remember, the physics were fairly arcadey but had some more realistic parts to them, so it wasn't completely dumbed down

The races aren't randomly generated, but there are a shitton of events and most of them are pretty long. Then, you could also duel random people driving around by flashing your lights at them and then putting a finish line anywhere on the map to do a sprint race against that driver (atleast in SP, but I guess it works the same way in MP). But the most fun was had by just cruising around the huge open world

I just got a playseat to go with my g25/g27 wheels and wanted to get back into sims. Ive only played GTR2 and Raceroom as far as sims go (also forza and gt for fun career modes). I had some random questions I wanted to ask. Which sim has more professional racers vouch for them? Which sim has more "normal" cars (as in not only f1 or super cars)? Which has more car and track selections? Which one has more support and community? Which sim has the most reasltic clutch h shifter combo?

AKG K240s are very affordable and have an excellent soundstage. Great for multiplayer racing.

Koss Pro4AAs are tough as nails and feel like a helmet or pit radio gear. Rather heavy and the soundstage is smaller, but perfect sound and face-rattling bass. Perhaps not a good choice if you wear glasses because of the clamping force.

Professional racers pay that group who develop rFactor pro to build them a custom simulator for their specific car, probably usually including the hardware. Any time they fully endorse an off the shelf consumer sim you can be sure they're getting paid to do it. Truth is, all the racing sims have one major issue or another. More like they use rFactor as a base layer because it's so adaptable to different hardware. So teams will build a custom sim rig hardware, have someone develop the physics in house, and then just apply it to a graphic layer which would be rF usually.

I like racing games, and played the fuck out of Forza 6. However, I've been led to believe that AC is a hardcore sim type of game, and that you probably need a wheel to play it. I don't want to pay $250 for a wheel, so that's out of the question. So can you play it on a controller ok? Also, how sim-like is it? Are there at least options and stuff such as manual/auto? Thanks

Assetto Corsa is not a game. It is a full-fledged racing simulator, designed to most accurately portray the sights, sounds, feel, and atmosphere of putting a car on a track.
There are many options for controls (more than just about any other software I've ever used) and many options for how the vehicle performs (so yes, you can choose between manual and automatic transmissions).
Do I think you should invest in this title if you intend to play with a game controller as opposed to a wheel? Honestly, no. Having played with an XBox controller before, I can say from experience that it is doable, but handling some of these cars at speed on the most technical of tracks, you'll never be anywhere near competitive in the online scene, and you'll spend a lot of time either not pushing the vehicles to their limits or driving off the track. I simply do not believe you can get enough control fidelity out of a standard game controller to get the most out of this sim.
The good news is that you don't need an expensive wheel to get started in sim racing. My first wheel purchase was a Driving Force GT I got on eBay for $50, and that alone is infinitely better than an Xbox controller, even if it is a little noisy and lacks a proper gear shifter. What it allowed me to do, however, was get a feel for how much I enjoyed sim racing, and to decide how much I wanted to invest in the future.
I'm not the kind of person to turn someone away from a hobby I love, and I don't want you to finish reading this comment and think that I don't want you to buy AC, because with all my heart I want more people to join and love this awesome community. What I don't want is for you to be disappointed. If all you're looking for is to putz around some super accurate tracks in a bunch of beautiful cars, then sure, pick it up. If you want to get really good at racing virtual cars, both against AI and against players online, expect to invest in at least the bare minimum wheel/pedals setup.

Not at this time but it will be in the next updates as the beta moves along and content is added in, the wheels are the biggest priority for them right now so they are making sure everything is ironed out and ready to be published.

It's a fun game for a simcade and it definitely feels a whole lot better on PC, something they should have done long ago.

Atleast T10 made the pledge to have all future Forzas on PC so all is looking good.

Alright niggas. I'm mad now. Week 1, 2 and 6 were the most grueling weeks for me. I had to spent literally hours each week pushing all the cars to the limit to see if they could be balanced enough. One by one I tested the cars. And the reason I won the 2 first rounds was because I spent more than 5 hours each week purely hotlapping the tracks to balance the cars. And in the end, no one was hotlapping b himself in the top, so I call that a success.

Oh, and the "BoP my car to be the fastest" is just great. I picked the RS4 because I like wagons. It ran on street tires, and 5 laps in the first 2 rounds were enough for the car to understeer like a pig under the 2 tons it carried. The only upside it has the V8 under the hood. Kita and STiguy were faster in qualifying in both rounds compared to me, even after I spent an autistic amount of learning each nook and cranny of the track. In the first week I had to hold with claws the first place because because in the straights I would pull out a bit and then by the next corner the impreza was right in my bumper. And the nature of the series was mostly street cars, so that by itself means that there will never be the perfect balance, like there is with racecars. SJ in touge just slapped a monster truck to supposedely run. Gent went through with his decision to tune and balance himself the truck. It pulled like hell in the straights but it was slow as heck in the corners. And I guess the V10 rs4 was OP again in C1 I guess? I just swapped the FSI V8 with the V10 from the super trofeo huracan. That was it. And in the end, I was just btfo in both the last races.

So whoever you are, you never ran in hot version, and you can fuck right off.
