Trump criticizes Obama on the auto-bailout, claims they are going to move Jeep manufacturing. Chrysler executive (Ralph Gilles) says he's 'full of shit'. Jeep is now manufacturing at least 2 vehicles in China now.

So how badly did the American tax-payer get ripped off by Obama's auto-bailout?
>>
>>14991461
Well W started the bailout, don't really know how much Obama negotiated after he took it over, either way it's not like American politicians who were funded by big business are trusted to try and keep manufacturing jobs within the States do to being literal puppets to the profit machine

They weren't ripped off. The alternative would be far worse.

I love Ralph Gilles. He doesn't sugar-coat anything (because Trump will eat it). Ralph Gilles is perfectly on point here.

Chill out anon, we're already voting for TRUMP 2016, go to a board that needs to hear and let us talk about cars.
>>
>>14991461
>Jeep is now manufacturing at least 2 vehicles in China now.
Isn't that because China's extra taxes over imported cars, and they are doing this in order to be able to compete with other manufacturers which are doing the same in China, including non American manufacturers. Whether Donald Dump like it or not, most of the auto industry is relying on China for growth, and depriving US auto manufacturers from playing according to China's rules like everyone does would set them back and lower their production.

Yup. Giles simply bold face lies about chrysler moving manufacturing to China. No sugar, just plain flat out denial and attacking Trump. If he admits that Trump is right about Chrysler moving both parts and assembly to china, then Trump will keep on quoting that. It's clear that Chrysler has moved not just car lines to china, but also the parts and assembly manufacturing for the cars as well. It's basically training the chinese companies and workers on building car factories.

Pretty soon, you'll see copycat american cars being sold in the USA that will finish driving GM into bankruptcy at which point the chinese will buy up the last of the patents for pennies on the dollar. Not that the chinese follow patent and copyright laws anyways.

Anyways, Giles will keep on saying Trump is wrong about chrysler moving manufacturing to china. Trump is correct though, but Giles is like all the corrupt "establishment" in that they line their pockets with short term money and let the future take care of itself - they've created a potential dead end and then abandoned the USA of the future to that dead end.

>>14991581
what the fuck are you on about? 2 models isn't Jeep's entire range like Trump was saying.

Also, why should I believe anything you say when you can't even spell Ralph Gilles' name right?
>>
>>14991581
Did you even read the article which you linked?
>Jeep sales in China saw an increase of nearly 50 percent in 2014, and China has now grown into the number one Jeep market outside of the United States
Chrysler is going to build a factory there to lower costs, taxes imposed by Chinese and help their growth in order to maintain their profits. But, sure since Jesus Trump said that it means that auto manufacturers are evil for trying to sell their products outside of the US by meeting the requirements of global competition. But I guess they will achieve that by keeping these two models production in the US, with higher labor costs and extra taxes imposed on their product for being an import vehicle. The chinese who buy Jeep will flock to the gazillion alternatives with lower price then.

holy shit guys fords moving too! They already have a plant in China!

How dare a major corporation try to expand into new markets!

factoryanon her
here's what you need to know. One factory may be responsible for producing dozens, sometimes hundreds of different brands of products.

My job manufactures things for at least 30 different companies under their respective names.

There is no Donald J Trump clothing factory in China.

It's something unpronounceable and likely also makes Fruit Of the Loom ties.

good goy.

Trumpet: You're moving the whole company to China!

Gilley: You're a liar! We only moved 45% of the company production to china (parts, carriage fulfillment, assembly, robots, electronics, active factory machines, active factory lines).

Trumpet: No fair counting inactive usa factories you shuttered but keep on the books as part of the manufacturing capacity. You do that to make your numbers deceptively look good.

Gilley: Okay, 75% of active production and not activatable production capacity, but you are still a liar as 75% is not 100% of the company.

Trumpet: *grumbles* 75% is still a lot
>>
>>14992011
Don't they make ties in the USA?
Why would Trump slap his name on an imported product?
>>
>>14992035
>Why would Trump slap his name on an imported product?
Trump didn't conscientiously slap his name on a product, the brand did that. Still pretty damning
>>
>>14991461
if you're making a price sensitive product like shitboxes then to succeed in china you need factories in china
literally every relevant shitbox manufacturer already does this
>>
it's nice to say let them fail, but the economy would have collapsed to worse than it had ever been if GM and Chrysler went under. Ford would have a monopoly but they'd still be broke as shit after mortgaging all their shit. I'll still vote for trump but he really does say stupid shit sometimes
