It either needs a new alternator or a new battery, and has a new one of whichever is operable. I don't remember. One of the tires goes flat in 10 minutes of filling it, it had mice living in it and through the air system, smells like rat piss and shit.

You are asking us to answer questions without giving us enough information. First do you need this car? If so do research and determine what a car of the same year & condition is worth. Next figure out how much repairs will cost. If the repairs are less than the value of the car and you need it then fix it and drive it, provided you have the money to do so. If the repairs are more than the vehicle is worth then sell it. YOU will have to do the leg work on this and figure it out we can't magically solve this one for you. Have a picture of a 46 ford while you figure it out.

Battery isn't much, so is one tire. Alternator is more.

Not really, hes a bit of a car collector. Bought my grandma a thunderbird back in the 80s with white "ponie" leather in it. He gave it to me because I didn't have a vehicle for college but I drive my stepfathers ranger now. So no, I don't strictly need it.
