It's basically the alternate approach to "reliability"... it can and will break down often, but nearly everything should be cheap and easy to fix.

I daily drove one for a few years. It broke down on me two or three times. You really need to know how to wrench, because I didn't and could've easily prevented those breakdowns. Car turns heads and gets compliments endlessly. At least once per trip someone will ask me what year it is, flash me a thumbs up, whatever. They are fun to drive, but incredibly slow. Freeway overtaking will no longer be a concept

Yes but remember they take an age to stop so you need to be aware of what's going on three time further ahead than you do in a modern car.
