If you were a richfag collector
What car would you collect all the generations and special editions of?....
Hunting down rarest Sneks would be fun
Mustangs. All of them.
Impreza
V12 ferraris
>>14929548
911s
wew that was easy
>>14929548
Awwwwww yeah
Only true enthusiasts get dubs
>>14929548
Probably just shit that was made locally, like the Wichita Truck. But now that I've said it, I don't even know if there's one of every kind even surviving to this day. And I'd probably have to raid WWI museum vehicles all over America and Europe for chassis and parts.
On the other hand, it sounds like a fun travel adventure.
>>14929548
Every Aston Martin and group C car
As many LMPs as I can find
WRX/STI, because there's so many various editions of them.
Pic related, looks normal, is actually a special RB320.
>>14929548
Probably the Viper coz just 3 generations and it's easy.
>>14929548
Id collect all the 80's and 90's JDM
>>14929934
What is special in RB320?
>>14929967
Different seats... Bit higher HP than a stock STI, better suspension.
Not too many differences, but it would still be fun to try and find one to collect.
>>14929649
with all of the bodies of the people they ran over too?
I cannot think of a single car model with more than one generation where it's worth owning every generation, let alone multiple editions of each generation. You have to be irrationally obsessed to pull through with something like this regardless of how much money you have.
>>14930152
I was going to agree but I would not mind owning one of every generation of pic related
>>14930179
But they all drive more or less the same.
>Fords from the 60's (especially anything made by Shelby)
>1st gen. Vipers (GTS/CS would be crown jewel)
>Ferrari 250s(Lusso, GT California, GTO, etc.)
Ford pickups and broncos from the 60's and 70's.
All the McLaren F1s.
there is no car with a long history for which I don't consider the majority of generations and editions shit
Chevy Cavaliers
Purely for the WTF factor.
>>14931212
I was thinking Ford Escort because old Escorts were awesome and some of the special editions are legendary.
>>14929548
civic.
>>14931108
This would be hard. The value of every F1 you don't own would increase each time you buy a new one until the last two would cost as much as 30 of them did when you started.
I'd personally go with 911s.
>>14931221
But the Escort never got a glorious 60* V6
V12 lambos tbqh fampai
>countach

Diablo a best

>>14931841
has it about right, but past that, there's no car that I like every generation of.
>>14929548
A whole fleet of Evos.
>>14933276
this
Poopras
>>14929548
Probably a retinue of Toyota's PLC and GT cars mainly Z-body Soarers/Lexus SC, but also including cars like the new LC and RC and the old 2000GT.
>>14929702
>1000 cars that looks exactly the same
Evo
>>14929548
Probably M BMWs, if I had to be specific M3s. I like how much they've changed from generation to generation, though I couldn't care less about the M4.
More generally, I'd love to collect vintage BMWs.
>>14929548
Maybe the CTS-V
>1st-gen 5.7L and 6.0L
>2nd-gen sedan, coupe, and wagon
>3rd-gen sedan
That's 6 cars so far and they'll probably end up making more.
>>14929548
>cars not in correct order
I have no OCD, but this triggers me
>>14931234
Even crappy examples of some generations fetch six-figures.
>>14933234
This man gets it.
Would you want a Gen 3 coupe or convertible?
Group B rally cars. Not sure if this counts, but it's what I'd correct if I were a richfag.
Corollas, every generation Corolla.
>>14935777
And every body style for every generation.
>>14935777
>1993 was a mistake
>>14929548
Barely legal models of all of the common US police cars.
Barely legal, meaning that police-like markings are retained, omitting anything illegal like actually using the word 'Police' and flashing blue lights (I think).
Everyone would be getting out of my way whenever I go for a drive.
>>14935782
Realistically I'm mostly interested in 4th through 6th gen models.
7th gen is where they went too boring as a model.
>>14929548
Miatas, all of them. 1989-current
>all those M-editions
>Functional concept Miatas
>R&D Miatas (M2-Inc.)
>Exclusive market Miatas
>One off OEM paintjobs
>Mazdaspeed Miatas
It's endless
As an Aussie it would be a crime to say anything other than Falcons
>>14935788
What actually happens is you end up going the speed limit all day every day because nobody wants to speed up to get out of your way.
>>14935777
The special editions would be enormous considering the overlaps.
>>14933234
What if I just want the 3 natural ones which is not an edition?
I would try and buy the remaing 6 mugen tuned Crx and ide collect old British cars from the 60s
>>14936193
>What car would you collect all the generations and special editions of?....
>>14935255
Equally beautiful
>>14931108
one billion dollars.
That being said, I would also collect all the F1s. Or just one, I don't really care
>>14935788
Rented a black Charger once in California. People definitely get out of your way
>>14935788

camaro's

Obscure specific country-DM vehicles.
Brazil, Australia, so on and so forth.
http://bringatrailer.com/2016/02/18/heartbeat-of-south-america-brazilian-market-1972-chevrolet-c-10/
probably either all the Supras, WRX's or Evolution Lancers
Camaro. Cheap and plentiful enough that its easily doable.
Miatas all with LS swaps
>>14935626
Yeah but every F1 already fetches seven figures at least.
>>14929548
I have a dream of having the four big JDM competitors of the 90's sitting in a den in a big ass house.
>MKIV Supra Turbo
>3000GT VR4
>R34 GT-R
>Z32 300ZX TT
Integras.
I really want the Type-R sedan.
>tfw left handed and they're RHD only
why.
but OP, if I were a rich car collector, I'd instead buy big competitor cars.
190E and E30 Evo clones, GT-R and a Vette, shit like that.
Do I always have to be a richfag to be a collector?
>>14942468
Wait, what? How does handedness affect your driving ability? It's not at all like writing with a pen.
>>14929548
Every fucking generation and variation of every pre-87 chevy/gmc pickup.
Every.
Single.
One.
I have an odd love for them, especially the 67-72 and 73-87's.
every bike honda made ever
Aaall the civics
>>14942965
this, including all the prototypes.
Lancer Evolution
I would collect every iteration and variation of "the car".
I'd have thousands of cars, and all of them.
>>14935766
I'd so the same. But I'd get some of the prototypes that just missed out on Group B to see how competitive they might've been.
The MR2 always looked like it should've been a Group B car to me.
>>14942619
I literally came here to post every body style chevrolet pick up and its gmc twin
>>14942468
r34 is to new.
300zx tt is like 89, rx7 is 91, 3000gt is 1990
r34 is 1999 that's damn year 2000. The r33 is 93.
>>14929731
They didn't have the balls to put them in oldest to newest order so you can watch them get fatty fat fat fat.
>>14946295
>implying they won't be legal to import when I'm rich enough to realize this goal
>>14942611
it's better to have your dominant hand leading the steering wheel, since I'm left handed I'm much more comfortable doing pretty much anything in a LHD car, in a RHD car I've found that my shifts are faster and more crisp but my overall driving ability deteriorates.
Most of it would likely be fixed over time, but I would still be better with my left hand.
It's hard to explain how being left-handed gimps you without being left-handed yourself.
>>14933253
This guy gets it
Turbo Mopars. All of them.
Everything from the small Omni to the turbo caravans.
>>14931212
>that ad
kek wtf. corvette and camaro looking over their child
Every. Single. Grande.
Because collecting a trim level is for the realest.
>entire Skyline line
>group b rally cars
>group c le mans cars
>the Lotus and Mclaren formula cars from Senna
>entire Chaparral cars line
>entire Mclaren F1 collection of regular/specials etc

>>14929702
Same here, especially because those "special editions" would presumably include race cars.
"They all look the same" seems like kind of a silly argument to me, most other cars that you'd want to collect the whole line of look similar through the generations as well.
That said, though, this kind of depends how far you're willing to stretch the definition of a "model." I think you could make an argument, for example, that "V12 Ferraris" are a continuous lineage, and that would make for a pretty damn compelling collection.
>>14931212
I had that poster. I fucking loved my 00 Cavalier convertible. Probably the most fun car I've ever had. Damn that nostalgia hitting me hard.
