I want to drive extremely fast on an actual road in the US. What are my options?
>>
Post on /o/ about it and trigger Krauts who will spam MUH AUTOBAHN despite never getting their 1.2l shitboxes above 80 on it

Budget for the fine.

I realize there will be shitposting but im hoping for actual responses.

Im having a hard time figuring out the Salt Flats in Utah, for example.

Is the desert an option? Any roads anyone knows of?

I mostly just wanted to Inb4 that. Your best bet is to become familiar with highways and more importantly where cops hide
>>

Kraut here. I understand your pain. It must suck never being able to enjoy your car to the max without paying a ridiculous fine. You need a tissue?

>>
>>14907823
I don't know, maybe the country that makes the best and most reliable cars?

It blows. I have an E550 sedan. 382 hp, speed limit 70 mph. Sure, I can get to 70 pretty damn quick, but I can't imagine how nice it would be to cruise at 120 mph and get to my destination in half the time.

Silver State Classic Challenge, a time trial road race in nowhere Nevada. First timers have to attend a driving course for $250 and are restricted to the Touring class. Second time onwards the choice of class is yours, up to Unlimited. Attendance costs $560 to $900 depending on the class. A co-driver ticket costs an extra $175.
>>
>>14907831
You can benchrace all you want but Americans on average own way faster cars. That and basically every German make but Porsche is abysmal now
>>
>>14907833
ooh that's really cool.
>>
>>14907838
How can you know what driving is like in a country you don't even live in? I live here and go past 80 mph everytime I drive to work.
>>
>>14907848
What's the point of owning fast cars if you can't even go fast legally?
>>
>>14907847
>restricted to 124mph
>$810

I think my car can go faster than that. Im trying to hit top speed. Either way thanks for the actual info.
>>
>>14907863
Yeah but the next year you can go UNLIMITED for $900.
>>
>>14907865
I live in Wisconsin so this would probably be a one time thing.
>>
>>14907847
>Currently there are four main classes, in which cars can achieve target speeds between 95 and 180 mph (153 and 290 km/h). The classes specify safety equipment levels required for cars, drivers and navigators, and a maximum "Tech Speed", which may never be exceeded. Radar traps are hidden along the course to enforce this rule. There is also an Unlimited Class, in which drivers compete to set the fastest possible time over the course.
Lame.

Also, you can only run the lowest class if you have 3 point seat belts.
>>
>>14907847
I heard of this back when I was learning about the C4 ZR-1. Apparently this car is pretty good at sustained high speed runs.

>>
>>14907841

>>
>>14907873
What's lame about it? I just want to get in the unlimited class. The slower classes are convenient for when you want to drive your 110 mph shitbox and not have to get passed by someone going 250 mph.
>>
Classic shitposting
>>
>>14907781
Any remote highway or a decently straight road in the middle of the fucking night. Make sure there are no speed cameras and you're good to go. Check out the course beforehand durring the day, make sure there's not much traffic going through there, come back at night and party.
>>
>>14907887
>What's lame about it?
I don't want to ruin my interior installing a 5 point harness to run at my car's Vmax (north of 160 mph).

There is a toll road in Texas with a speed limit of 90. That is the highest in the country as far as roads go.

Except that up until very recently American cars have had anaemic power delivery and anaemic transmissions and anaemic gearing, and in the end you had a barge that displaces upwards of 5 liters, but only makes 200-and-fart horsepower, is geared to blubber along at 60 or 70 and runs into the anaemic rev limiter at 110.

It's definitely gonna have some issues, mainly heat and putting all that power to the ground.

AYY LMAO American logic

Twice the power to drive in a country with exclusively flat endless roads.

Any well handling car with over 250-300hp and a transmission geared to do 180.
Radar scramblers/detectors, laser scramblers, plate flipper, light kill switches, a decent scanner for a few counties around you, and a nice set of night vision.

When you decide to go fast, kill your back & brake lights, flip your plates, and haul ass as fast as you can.

Other cheaper option is pick up an unreg'd preferable no-title 600-1000cc bike off Craigslist for a grand or two.

Don't get me wrong, I love the car (I wanted a V8), but I am also envious of the German licensing program and Autobahn. Unfortunately, the culture (read: minorities) in the US means an Autobahn type system would never work.

What's wrong with your local race track? Most every other weekend I am at some race track somewhere during the season. Can't think of a better place or way to spend the time. I generally treat all speed limits on public roads as a suggestion too, especially when on bike since cops won't chase.
>>
>>14908151
what exactly is the problem?
A gutted w201 with a built 2.5 and a simple fd swap will go easily over 160mph.
A honda s2000 provided it's shed enough weight will hit over 160 with a few engine mods.
I've personally driven a 993 at 163mph. Get the motor tuned and a slightly smaller FD and you can hit 180 no problem.

I've seen quite a bit of holes through the blocks of "modern turbocharged cars" when retards stick a fucking bleed valve and crank that shit up to max without propper upgrades to handle the power. I spent lasy sunday rebuilding a fucking v6 ecoboost cause it couldnt handle the boost on stock internals and ended up in shreds. A new block is quite a bit more expensive than a set of forged rods and unless you're a fucking retard, it can take you less than a day to pull out the engine, rebuild it and put it back in

I had an 88 acura legend with 200k miles (I got it to 220k) the only things I ever had to do was change the master cylinder and brake pads, and oil/basic maintenance of course

Friend's audi at less than half the miles and he needs regular trips to the dealership
>>
>>14907956
you are correct

>85 mph
>With a speed limit of 85 mph on specified segments of rural interstates, Texas is the fastest state in the country. The state's average speed limit for all three types of roadways (rural and urban interstates and limited-access roads) is 78.3
>>
Get a radar detector and take notes on where cops usually hang out at, remember to keep your eyes peeled. As long as you know the road/highway well, tear that shit up senpai.
