How far can an engine tilt on its mounts?. I'm removing

How far can an engine tilt on its mounts?. I'm removing the transmission and have to tilt the engine to get it out, will it be fairly obvious once it's reached as far as it can go?

on longitudinal engines I just remove the trans crossmember and let it rock back on the mounts as far as it will go, make sure there isn't a wire loom running in between the block/pan and the frame/subframe. you don't want to pancake the wires. mounts are tough and ig=f the isolator rips you needed new mounts anyways.

aah I left out pulling hoses and wiring from the tilt back, also rear mounted distributors on v-engines can hit the firewall, especially large cap dizzy's like the HEI. you may have to remove the cap or the entire assy. Mounts hold up to brake stands, pulling trailers etc. they can handle the torque of an unsupported trans.
