Why do ewwropukes buy those dull, overpriced, tasteless, unreliable as fuck junk?

Do they by any chance think VW is a decent auto manufacturer?

In reality, most times it's worse than burgerland cars

Why would you buy a VW anyway, it's just a rebadged Audi.

Same reason people buy Dodge in the states: marketing and financial services targeted at their demographic.

So why do they buy Dodges in Germany?

>99% of the time /o/ whines about emission standards being fucking retarded and how great running open headers or straight pipes is
>a big company does the same
>now you're sucking the EPA's cock about how bad it is
Stay mad mate.
>>
>>14872505
Your completely missing the point. They cheated the system and said they didn't and claimed to have "clean diesels" which they are far from. They lied straight to their consumers
>>
>>14872473

>regulations intended to kill diesel in the US tighten down on VW to the point where they can't make a marketable car run on diesel
>decide to be alpha as fuck and outplay the EPA for YEARS

They lied because the government was playing hardball with them to benefit domestic auto manufacturers.
>>
>>14872541
They lied to government people, not their customers.
>>
>>14872556
Yeah except, they lied to globally about the emissions, not just North America. I don't think they met anybody's emissions standards (countries that had any).
But who the fuck cares besides green socialists.
>>
>>14872582

They met nearly every EU nation's standards. The EU quickly wrote in new diesel regs to meet the US's after dieselgate, which is fishy as fuck.
>>
because i'm not buying some ching chong nippshit
>>
>>14872560
They did lie to their customers. Now their so-called 'clean diesels' will have trouble going through smog checks because of VW's fraud.

>>14872591
EU has always given diesel a free pass.

>>14872318
Their depreciation isn't too bad around these parts.
>>
>>14872816
>EU has always given diesel a free pass.
Everyone ought to given that they're the new hotness when tarbo'd and more fun than ever.
>Now their so-called 'clean diesels' will have trouble going through smog checks because of VW's fraud.
Even the EPA said that they won't offload this shit on the consumer and that the only people who would get punished are those who won't install the fix (provided for free by VW) after it has been released.
>>
>>14872832
CARB != EPA.
>>
>>14872591
Then why is the recall global if they met everybody BUT the US standard? Makes no sense. Besides, there was already an news release about not meeting EU regs. OR Brazil's. And a few others. China cars should be ok though.
>>
>>14872468
they considered expensive here due to the fact that you got no spare parts from outside the US

I have a 09 TDI Passat wagon. Manual, 2 litre. Only problem is a button stopped working for the electric parking brake. It worked intermittently, sometimes wouldn't disengage for a few tries. 35€ and changed over, no problems.

Gets to 220kmh every day, gets 850-900kms to a full tank.

Have done 170,000kms so far. Apart from regular services and brake pads and tyres, I haven't had a any problems.

I'm really happy with it.

Oh wait, the Bluetooth. I can't sync with my phone. That's the only persistent problem.

>But who the fuck cares besides green socialists.
If you think environmental regulations aren't important, go back to when diseases such as malaria weren't eradicated and the air in Los Angeles contained even more particulate matter of the <10nm-diameter variety.

Or don't, I don't really care since you're just an idiot echoing your inbred uncle's political views on "socialism" without any critical thinking whatsoever. If socialism would grant you 3 wishes of your choosing without restriction you would probably still oppose it.

Generic new VWs are pretty expensive here. Up to real expensive when choosing some bigger options.
Especially for what they are and claim to be.

'Volkswagen' was the name for the old Beetle, alongside items such as the 'Volksempfänger', a dirt-cheap radio set that brought radio reception to large swathes of the German population before other countries had radios in their tanks and airplanes. The Wagen was supposed to do the same thing... and it did, just after the war and all over the world. Then a few dozen years passed and the thing was hopelessly outdated, so they stopped making it.

But now Volkswagen was an established brand, had a rep for reliability and simple construction and had a stable of new designs on sale. Have you ever noticed how no branded product can go downmarket, but rather trends to drift further and further upmarket if left alone for long enough?

They released the Beetle. It establishes itself. They stop making it. They release the New Beetle. It's a horrendously expensive premium product.
They released the Golf (Rabbit for some of you out here). With every generation it gets bigger and more premium.
So they release the Polo as an even smaller, cheaper alternative. The same happens, it just keeps getting bigger and more premium.

You can see this across the market in any manufacturer. Look at Honda Civics or Toyota sedans from fifteen years ago with today. It just keeps balooning until the vehicles practically become luxury cars and they need to keep making new named models just to keep a downmarket presence.

>>14873299
This might be news to you but as a European I never insured my car in the States, so I don't know what you fancy fucks call full cover. Regardless, I have full cover on my car.

The fact that you think such a low rate is impossible actually makes me laugh. Ever hear of percentages you fucking asswipe? How many accidents have you caused because I sure as fuck aint paying 100% with that price.

Rest in sweet butthurt though.

I was almost buying a VW for my first car after having got immersed in a lot of positive reviews of German cars in the media and their smart branding as a car loving kid for so long, but it all turned out that they were just a fake talent solely relying on illegal doping to compete against real major star players, and now pitifully they can't stop shaking from the idea of deservedly getting banned from the top league permanently.

Oh Germany, how pathetic is that?
>>
>>14873521
This though

too bad availability is a bitch and it's hard to convince people to get a high-mileage CT even though at 200K kilometers they're generally in a better state than most sub-100K Peugeots.
