If you want an M4 that's faster than the M2, you'll have to pony up $135k for the GTS model. The M2 is a far better deal by comparison.

When will the electric steering hate meme die?

The MR2 for example, had it and it was great. Just because it's fucking electric doesn't mean it's bad in principle. Personally I find it far more predictable than a pump driven system. Electric systems only tend to be shit when the ECU attempts to control parts of the steering for things like stability control and other shit. That interference is generally what annoys people.

That's probably because sportscars by definition are inherently about being fast and offering an exciting driving experience. The 2-Series is just a smaller 4-Series and the M2 and M4 are both sportscars furthermore they are made by the same manufacturer. For all intents and purposes, the more expensive car should offer something more in the way a driving enthusiast can appreciate so that he is more willing to spend an extra $15k. Being slightly bigger doesn't cut it.
