It's just one big grid, and even easier when you live in states with feeder systems. Plus, you can just keep a map in the glovebox, center console, or one of the overhead visors.

The Japs didn't like cupholders, either. One of my cars doesn't have any, the other has a sort of square area under the console lid with a round indent that doesn't look like it would secure a cup well at all. Never bothered me, and it's a good way to stop others from eating in your car
