What's the point of human endeavor when we as a species have achieved perfection with the 1969 Subar Sambar?

I prefer the bongo

The effeciency of such designs as seats on the wheel wells and the nd row seating that folds flush better than todays stow n go seating makes for a surprisingly roomy interior.
You could def. Sleep in a 1969 360 sambar and maximize your time in simple luxury.

A fine vehicle. But it doesn't have suicide doors and relies on a wasteful decadent 3 cylinder engine. It's a great van, but it's no Sambar.

Imagine this with the 1L ecoboost
>>14834725
Also the bell shaped curves on the rear and front slope forms an awkward asymmetrical silhouette. Not like the clean streamlined curves of the 360 Sambar, with its aesthetically pleasing "bread loaf" design.

>wanting to decrease mpg
Fuck is wrong with you?
>>14834774
Well the thing is the Sambar comes with a 2 stroke water-cooled engine that has a 360cc displacement. So really the best thing to do would be find the largest commercially available 2 stroke engine and modify the rear engine bay to accommodate it. I believe the largest displacement for a 2 stroke is 750cc. That should get its 1100 lbs flying nicely

Sadly it's mpg isn't what you'd think due to the 1960s optimism of low fuel prices. So it's 66 mpg, which yes, is more than a prius
They also make a pickup, which makes me wonder why Dodge even bother trying to compete. The F 150 doesn't come close to the aesthetics and effeciency of the 360 Sambar truck

Wasn't there a 750cc 2 stroke Yamaha bike engine back in the late 70s? That shit would probably work
Can you fit a big screen in the box in the back of a Sambar?
Although it's water-cooled, you of course have the option of opening the front vent to get some air conditioning action, that is if you don't want to roll the windows and hear that bad boy 2 stroke purr...

Kawasaki made one in the 80s on the CSR M1 twin
Source: I own one

I was thinking of a kawasaki, but a yamaha would do. The engine swap would be so simple a child could do it, it's even a 5 speed.

Of course my horse. Anything up to a 60" flatscreen in its box, bear in mind TVs are sized corner to corner so a 60" is about 30" wide and 50" long.
You could probably get 4 or 5 in there with the fold flat seats.

After all that you've read here, how can anyone deny that car design has been in a downward spiral after reaching an apex of aesthetic and functional perfection with the Sambar 360?
What's the point of trying?
If you're a spic you can even turn it into a low rider and drive your 15 kids to the welfare office.
In order to accommodate the North American market, a raised roof was available as an option, which gave you more headroom than a human being would realistically ever need. Really, the only thing that could top a Sambar is another Sambar.

Snow mobiles get up to 900-1000 cc but poor milage if you romp on them when modified, and the after market is huge.

Snowmobiles have a very different gear ratio, getting the transmission to accept it would be a headache. It's an intriguing concept but it's just so much work to give it any torque at low rpms.
Neat idea though

Been thinking of starting my own Sambar project for a while now, sadly the price for an antique in working condition is at least 5k. Still, going to do it when I get my next work bonus.
Talk me down, /o/.
Just kidding, you can't.
Gaze into the face of automotive perfection
I too humbly submit to my Sambar overlords. Make motoring great again, Subaru
