List all your cars you've owned and write a brief sentence or two on your thoughts about the number of cars you have owned.

88 Subaru XT6
95 Volkswagen GTI
91 BMW 318is
91 Volkswagen Jetta Diesel
88 BMW 325
82 BMW 320is
88 Toyota Corolla SR5
88 Toyota MR2
91 Nissan 240sx Coupe
88 Mazda RX7
91 BMW 318i
93 Toyota MR2 Turbo

I think I wasted a bunch of money and time on cars I didn't like. I could have owned half the cars I have and been twice as happy, haha.

98 Ford Mustang GT

03 Toyota Camry v6
10 corolla le (1.8)
10 VW Golf 2.5 i5 (current)

Loved my Camry. Drove it to almost 300k, it has issues but it never left me stranded. Comfy and smooth AF

Corolla was cool, a bit slower than I was used to with the v6 but it was reliable

Golf I got because I always wanted a GTI my friend has in HS (he had a 05) but I couldn't afford it so I went with the Golf. Plus the N/A 5 banger is reliable enough. Have had problems with interior though
>>
95 Ford Windstar
96 Honda Accord Coupe
95 Honda Accord Coupe
05 Saturn Vue
15 Fiesta ST

They were all standard transmissions except the windstar, the Saturn was (is) pretty much a tank. I actually saw a bit of profit after having each Accord totaled, I bought them just over 120k miles each for aroind $3.5, was able to negotiate around $5k for them from the insurance companies.

The 87 T/A was a 305 TPI car with automatic. It looked great, but honestly was a dog. Whoever owned it before me must have ragged on her pretty bad, it was by far the worse fbody I had.
Keep in mind this car was around 8 years old when I got it, and third gens do have a few issues, especially with interiors and anybody unlucky enough to have 4 wheel disc brakes.
>>14833801
My Iroc was one of my favorites. 350TPI and automatic, but strong as hell. I was second owner and bought it cheap because of a broken transmission mount. I fixed it and sold it for a profit but immediately regretted it.
The judge I bought when I was 15. My great grandmother passed and left me an inheritance that I dumped in the car. At the time my father was big in to buying and selling musclecars and parts. He was worried I would wrap myself around a tree with that car (and rightfully so) so he made me a deal. Sell the judge and he would make sure I always had a car to drive while I loved at home. I drove a 65 coronet 440, a 68 chevelle SS, and a 69 firebird most of my high school years. This was in the early 90s.
After school I moved out in to the country got in to dirt track racing and offroad. Now I just work on my house and raise my kids.

>Did you own the Iroc long enough to give it an appraisal as a daily/possibly later drag car?
Not really, but I did have three other turd gens.
If you live where it snows you are going to need a winter beater. They absolutely suck in the snow, hell they aren't much better in the rain. You will have to get accustomed to a RWD car with enough ass to break the tires loose whenever you want.
Typical 80's GM shitty construction. The power window switches will fuck up. The t-tops will leak. You will be constantly fixing little things, especially now they are over twenty years old. I felt the engine bay was cramped back then, but compared to newer cars they aren't bad. The 700r4 trans has problems with lubrication ports getting clogged up, causing failure. Engine cooling is a pain, especially if you swap motors. It seems that airflow to radiator is nonexistent.
>drag car
They are an excellent platform with plenty of aftermarket support. I would suggest you stay away from t-top cars, even the mild street cars I drove were starting to get body flex pretty bad. I also ran in to problems when I swapped a 350 in my 84 Z. I used an older style set of heads, header fitment was a pain, and changing spark plugs became a real hassle.
>>
>>14834149
>someone who actually knows what they're talking about
am I dreaming or am I really on /o/?
Thanks for the info mate, I life in Texas so snow shouldn't be a problem, rain will but I expect I'll have more trouble from the shitty roads than anything else.

Good vehicle, reliable. Was really good in the snow.
>1996 (I think) intrepid
Was an ok car. Tons of space, comfortable ride. Interior was cheap but it was a good car to me.
>1998 Malibu
Was reliable engine wise but it kept eating through wheel bearings so I sold it quick.
>2005 cobalt
Worst car I've ever owned. Electrical issues, lock issues, alarm issues. Power steering went, ignition needed replacement due to recall. Water leaked into cab from ac and from the windshield. Awful vehicle.
>1999 eclipse
Extremely reliable, drove the shit out of this car. Total cost over my ownership was $12 for a thermostat. Red lines it all day every day, never let me down. Build quality for interior was awful though.

Honestly if you are interested in a third generation camaro, especially an IROC, you might not want to wait too long, I feel these cars will go up in value pretty quickly.
>because of faggots my age who now have some disposable income and want to relive glory days or some shit.

Nah man, something about the way Iroc-Z's look is just timeless to me.
My only explanation is my taste in all things is utter shit - It's why I plan to get rich.
Besides, my main love is sleepers, and a "sleeper" is anything that can punch well above it's weight without looking like it. Ie a (hypothetically) tuned civic that was full ricermode but could run with a Lambo is still as much of a sleeper as an LS-swapped 90's Jag that runs just as quiet as it did before.

323 was a fun little car but with shitty electrics and a gearbox that didn't like being shifted into second. >>
>>14834332
Oh I agree they look great. I don't know if I would ever consider a camaro a sleeper however.
You keep going back to the IROC, you do understand there is very little visual difference between a Z28, RS, or even base model camaro with the ground effects option right? Just saying if you expand your search you can get the same look you want, without the premium IROC price.
>>
>>14834366
Oh, right. I refer to that body style as the "Iroc" style because it's the easiest way to clear up which gen I'm talking about, kinda like catfish, foxbody, etc.
I planned on getting any of those models, preferably with a manual.
And yeah, I wouldn't consider it a sleeper, but I was just rambling.

First car was a much needed learning experience and got most of my crazy driving out of my system. The 86 is amazing and I usually find myself neglecting my STi, lol! You can learn a lot from a 30 y/o car and only being 2200 pounds with the driver inside, rwd, and that much power can become a fun or dangerous object *knocks on wood* So that the Corolla trained me to become a skillful pilot. Now, the STi on the other hand is just a pleasure driving car.

The J-body was speedy, like a tiny rocket ship. Cobalt was warmed shit, but I had it for six years.

I'm much happier with the dinosaur 4WD, half-doors and a deleted rear seat.

The 88 325.
I did a whole bunch to that car. "2.7i" SETA motor, chipped, coilovers, e36 m3 steering rack swap, brand new bushings all around, full custom fabricated, stainless dual header back exhaust, long tube headers, lightweight flywheel, Z3M shifter. Car was so much fun, would walk allover e46 M3s and was so much fun to back-road. I still have the 82 320is and that's my second favorite, I built a second stroker m20 for it and refreshed all the bushings, did tie rods and brakes, coilovers, Z3M shifter again, I.E short tube headers. The e21 is a blast to drive because it feels like a vintage race car and is super torquey. But I put a ghey oil cooler on it.

2003 Honda civic
1999 Toyota camry
2013 BMW 335is

Years and years of wrenching on old econoboxes left me kinda sour. After getting an adult job after school I was able to upgrade. Back in the day I traded the accord for an old school xbox and totaled the civic after spilling my panda express on the floor and getting distracted. Ah youth

i love your car choices man,i also had an e30,a 318is with some mods (chipped, supersprint exhaust, all new bushings powerflex,4.10 lsd and some other mods) i loved the hell out of it but unfortunately i totalled it (stupid van didn't yield while i was overtaking). i know own an e36 vert which i swapped the engine to an m50b25 Non vanos,i kinda regret buying a vert because of the weight but it looks good, chicks dig it and it's pretty nice driving it topless.i'm looking for an e30/e21 after abandoning my idea for a kadett c "project".i hope you the best of luck

The total cost of ownership on the elantra including payments was lower than the sonta... until gas prices fell. sonata was fun enough for how cheap it was.

I'm otherwise very happy with the list, the del sol is a great first project car

MR2s were by far and away the worst cars I owned. Pain in the ass to work on, tried to kill me at every opportunity. I miss the S4 the most, that engine was utter magic. The E36 M3 is the best 'does everything great' car. The Legacy SS is the best 'performs a mile and a half beyond its pay grade' car.

On phone so I'll be brief.

For daily driving..

Silvia, gtr, supra.

But all are good. Though I preferred the supra, torque, rwd, heavy steering feel (accurate).

Silvia felt light and flimsy, even with hks coils, bugger tie rods and new joints.

Gtr is a pleasure to drive, but it feels like a gokart. Except when it had the hicas on, that is a good system, but it feels counter intuitive.
