I'm revving at 3600 rpm at 80mph.
Could I lower this by putting on larger rear tires?
>>14821770
Yes at the cost of more difficult acceleration and lowering mpgs.
Your speedo will be off though
>>14821770
swap your diff

I'm running 14s with a shorter tire so I was thinking of bumping it up to 15s with a tall tire in the rear.
Do you think it'll make much of a difference?
I'm running 3:73 gears with a 4 speed manual.

1400RPM on a Prius at those speeds
>>14824710
Yeah, you have another 4,000 rpm to go anyway.
>>14821770
You could lower it, but depending on what you are driving the gains could go either way.

Shitposting time?
At that speed I'd be pushing 12-13k
>>14821770
I don't know how that will help your front wheel drive
>>14821825
This , maybe a different axle in general
>have ls 4.8l going 100 at 4k sounds beautiful , whish it didn't take forever.
>>14821770
tfw 2k at 80mph with a pushrod v6
>>14821835
You can do the math pretty easily if you know the full diameter of the new and old wheels (with tire). If it is 18" at first and you go up to 20" total, it's a 9% difference in circumference, so your revs will drop by about 9% at any given speed and your speedo will be off by 9%.
what car? check your tranny.

>tfw engine doesn't come alive until I hit 12k rpm
>that glorious sound once you hit the 12k

> nigga get a 5 speed in there with an overdrive gear.
>60 mph
>just under 2k in 6th
If I try to cruise around 70-80, I'm all the way up around 3k. Whoever says 3.73 is perfectly ok highway gears are lying.
I love the sound of a v8 more than anything, but the drone when cruising is deafening.
My last car was able to do 75 mph at 1900. But then again it had 3.31. Makes a world of difference.
