goddamn

Don't listen to that idiot.
>$500 and an afternoon
>>14793881
how many miles?
I'd aim for 3k if it looks decent and doesn't have 220k miles.
$1,000, give or take a couple hundred
>>14793910
this went over my head
>>14793937
the original engine broke down at 230K bought a rebuilt VTEC engine and put it in.
so idk hot the fuck to price it, because in theory this should work as good as a new engine. well close to a new engine
>>14793944
feel like thats what a 97 is worth
>>14793965
yeah except everything but the engine is 250k miles old.
>>14793987
true so then i was thinking 2500 is a fair price?
>>14793995
I was going to say list it as 3000 or best offer to give your self room to negotiate down.
>>14793965
2k tops. Non-original engine kills it.

b- b- b- vtec
On a side note, i've been reading and i've come to the conclusion that just because i put in a vtec, doesn't make it completely vtec.
Do you guys know what exactly one would need to complete the transformation?
and another side note, are 04-05 Vtec engines truly vtec? I read somewhere that theyre more like E vtec. Dont really kick in.
>>14794042
do you know exactly what engine it is?
>>14794022
Find a company that doesn't have their own brand of variable valve timing and you'd have gone back in time 30 years.
>>14794042
If you put in vtec engine in a non-vtec car, you still have a non-vtec ecu so it'll never activate if it runs at all.
$3k
>>14794042
the d17a2 which comes in the ex has vtec, the vtec is to switch from 12-16 valves on the intake side only and while it doesnt have a wild cam lobe the d17a2 does squirt more fuel in so it is vtec just not vtec 2 which comes on the dohc btec models

About 1500, rebuilds actually severely damage there sale value of a vehicle.
1500 is your starting asking price, don't expect to so it for that. Take anything over 800 and be happy.
>>14793946
The cost and time people associate with swapping an lsx engine into another car
>>14795342
Its not variable valve timing main.
Its variable cam duration.
>>14794015
>Non-original engine kills it.
This. If you're gonna save money by installing a non-numbers matching engine, then you're gonna pay a price when it comes time to sell.
>>14796245
No, the LS1 is the engine from the meme. Fucking newfags.
>>14796497
>hurrdurr lsx doesn't include ls1
Simmer down buddy
