I know snap on is a great brand but what are other good brand name tools?
>>
>>14759992
Harbor freight
>>
>>14759992
Dewalt
>>
>>14759997
I guess it's too bad I'm not dumb enough to fall for that one
>>
>>14759992
blue point is snap on but cheaper, mac tools are legit as well, anything power tools read up first, but mac/blue point best or some shit like deadblow hammers or somthing that doesn't matter just harbor freight it. deadblow harbor freightr hammers are legit
>>
>>14760005
Yet dumb enough to fall for snap ons over priced shit?
>>
>>14760004
Fuck I'm a beaner
>>
>>14760005
naw man, just stay the FUCK away from jacks for your car and breaker bars and sockets are so easy to find at garage sales usually so just get a set of those from a sale hopefully if not buy somthing decent, but mac tools is awesome
>>
>>14760010
btw blue point is literally a sister company to snap on, honestly go for whatever and do research, technically snap on has highest resale value but it doesn't matter too much unless your buying a tool chest and a half worth of shit harbor freight has some amazing quality then dumpster, its one way or the other.
>>
>>14759992

Knipex pliers
>>
>>14759997

Best tool rental place. Just look at the return lines. You don't buy Harbor Salvage tools - you borrow them.
>>
>>14760005
>>14759997
There's nothing wrong with Harbor Freight if you only wrench on your car every now and then.
>>
>>14759992
Never had my ancient set of craftsman fail me yet. 40 years old set of sae tools and 20 year old set of metric tools with some other matco and snap on throw on. Never bought anything new! Ingersoll rand set of impact guns for 400 for all 4. 3 craftsman tools boxes for 50 each. Old ac delco 5 ton jack and another ac delco 2 1/2 ton jack. I could go on forever about my shitty mix and match tool collection.

Europe Edition:

>top tier: Hazet
>runner up: Wera or Proxxon
>>
s k
bluepoint
mac

snap on is plush crap imo, blue point is perfectly acceptable.
>>
>>14761098
>Europe
more like Germany

>top tier: Hazet, Stahlwille
>2nd tier: Wera, Proxxon, Gedore/Rahsol
>>
What do you think of Kobalt?

Just more Stanley crap?
>>
>>14761123
Heyy Hazet is from my Hometown and my uncle works at Stahlwille
>>
>>14759992
It's literally Snap On for hand tools.

>>14761098
Non-Anglo fags can't get them because poverty/cuckolding.
>>
>>14761129
all i buy and have never had an issue with them

>i work for lowes
>>
>>14761161
>poverty
yeah because Hazet and Stahlwille are so cheap
>>
>>14761188
They aren't cheap because they're German, and everything German is overpriced shit sold to idiots who bought into a sophisticated advertising campaign.

In general as every maker has some shitty products and has "value" lines that are just rebadged Chinese shit. Stick with American and German made tools, there are a few good examples outside of these countries like Bahco but are rare.

Snap-On, MAC, Matco, SK, Cornwell, Mayhew, Trusty-Cook, Whia, Were, Klein, Channel lock, Starett, BOSCH, Estwing, Klein,

And good but not great tier tool makers include Craftsman (Not EVOLV), Tekon, Kolbalt, Dewalt, Irwin, Williams, Dremel, Gearwrench

Harbor freight has a very small selection of serviceable tools and great customer support but do not look here for anything that you plan to use more than a handful of times.
>>
>>14761432
>Were
Wera
>>
>>14761188
>Hazet

Hazet is too expensive for the mediocre quality tools they sell. There is a cult following among Porsche and VW mechanics (German tools for German cars) that gave them a better reputation than they deserve.

Blue-Point, literally just snapon tools with a different brand on them. Significantly cheaper too.
>>
>>14759992
op, im a bmw tech and all that is in my box currently is snap on, gearwrench, blue point, and harbor freight for hammers, and other bullshit tools. a lot of guys at my shop have matco, cornwell, and mac tools as well.

>>14761098
hazet is fucking garbage. i have compared a hazet tools to snap on and theyre a joke.
>>14761129
not as good as craftsman imo but not bad for weekend work

Yes, that's exactly what it was being compared to.
>>
>newfags don't know about crescent

Honestly god tier tools. Was extremely surprised
>>
>>14761501

Before the brand was bought by APEX in 2010 and turned to complete and total shit?
>>
I was surprised by Kobalt, not in a good way either
>ratchets go bad easily
>finish pits with rust after a couple of years

It's better than Harbor Freight, but I'd rather have Craftsman
>>
>buy no-brand torque wrench from ebay
am i about to die
>>
>>14761547
Yes, it will explode on the third bolt

And usually but not always during a different conversation;

>waa why are the working class paid so poorly
>>
>>14761123
My coworker has a set of Stahlwille offsets, they are decent but nowhere near Snap On's quality, I'd compare them to Gearwrench, usable kind of in the middle quality. Never used anything Hazet.

Their taiwanese stuff is good

I have some wrench sets, some extensions, and a roto ratchet. All are very nice.
>>
Who here loves satin finish tools?
>>
>>14761432
I'm legit impressed somebody else around here knows anything about tools. Thank I'm gonna have to say I'd rather have wiha over wera tho.
>>
>>14761441
Wrong. Blue point is made overseas and just isn't quite as nice as snap on. If I'm going to settle for taiwanese tools I damn sure am not going to waste money on bluepoint garbage when better taiwanese tools can be found for half the price.
