Back on the road. Put a standard shifter back in today which feels 10x better than the short shifter. Also mystery gearbox from friend turned out to be minto other than slight crunching into reverse. Clutch was pretty dead aswell.

So i think i finally found a manual transmission for my car
the junkyard wants 400$ CAD for it and it apparently in good condition
what are some other thing it need for the swap
i was thinking
-manual driveshaft
-clutch pedal and mustard cylinder
-maybe a manual ecu or is there an easy way to wire a manual to an auto ecu

is there anything else
and how hard would you say the whole operation is
>>
>>14760666
Devil trips checked, pretty sure the speedo cable is different and you would need a manual ecu, it's not just clutch pedal but pedal assembly.
Also is that price including clutch? You'd need manual shifter surround and boot obviously but can nig rig it in the mean time.

i did mean full clutch assembly
i remember hearing something about repinning an auto ecu for manual something about park and neutral
i was also thinking about just using the cover of the auto sifter
looks like it could be a nice clean small boot like an nsx

Aw shit mayne. Coilpacks? They always seem to be the first. One of my mates had a problem in his 33 where his injector was grounding out and not firing. Problem diagnosing is gay, atleast rb's are normally pretty straight forward.

>>14773477
Its probably not a bad thing as the s13 chassis flexes a lot more than it should, although thats probably the last thing you would brace.
If its not got an aftermarket panhard rod and undercar bracing and a rear strut brace though hes definitely a swag fag thats done it for street cred.
Haha better safe than sorry in regards to the stands, ive had a jack fully collapse within a few inches of my leg, i always chuck my spare under the car now just in case.

it has a rear and front strut brace also. Not sure what brand at all, so I'm gonna assume junk haha. Idk the previous owners could not into mechanics at all. Im trying to figure out why the light motors don't work when the button is pressed. Relay clicks, when i power the motors from the relay they both move, so i peeled away the black tape surrounding the harness and found it was cut and put back together really shitty. I'm running coilovers with camber tops so I've got 2.5 degrees on the front with the 8.5+22 it sits with plenty of room. I could go around 9+20 without having to go any more camber, not sure if I could run any decent tyres though. Don't want any scrubbing on fibreglass gaurds.

Fug mayne. That is the only section of main road I don't like. Coilovers on that road are lethal, so bumpy. One time I forgot about the big bump in the road at the top round the left hander where it goes off to cherry gardens if your coming down the hill.. was 90 degrees to the gaurd rail real quick. Assuming you have standard suspension? That bit of road gives me back pain just thinking about it
>>
>>14780796
>>14780801
>>14780820

Try this section mang. Best road that's close to us for a good hoon. Ironbank road onto sturt valley road through to stirling is great. Top section starts off boring but once you get down the bottom it is 10/10. Plus on the way back you can go down pole road for expert level hooning, we used to slide it but it's kind of a dick move because a theirs a few houses along their . Would be careful aswell because if you hang around their too long people call the police.

Haha nah I've got lowered susp, just springs and shocks not coils though, plus I'm rolling stockies all round so there's a lot more absorption in the tyre itself.
It's still pretty bumpy and all my bushing is oem too, I just love the tightness of the corners and how local it is.
I'll try out the ironbank/longwood you posted looks like you can give it a decent hoof on the straight bits too which is fun.
That Morgan rd path to the right of your pic looks like it would be wicked too, you could get full laps happening.

Yeah my whole car is stiff and solid, makes me appreciate nice roads and the daily driver suspension haha. Handles realy nice though, just need some sticky tyres soon as my fronts are all scrubbed and my rears just spin on boost unless I'm gentle with it.

That morgan road goes into deviation road which is good fun. Hell slippery road though, especially this time of year. Sturt valley road is my favourite road close to home. Super smooth, nice and wide and the corners flow nice. They were doing roadworks their though last time I went which sucked.

so I drive a Nissan Sentra piece of crap. Yesterday the ignition locked and I found that if you turn it counter clockwise while attempting to turn the ignition it worked.

Today the same shit happened, except when I tried jiggling the steering wheel I turned clockwise. I heard a click and the steering wheel completely locked.

Now I can't turn my car on or move the steering wheel except slightly more clockwise.

What happened and How the fuck can I fix this?

It's a 2001 Sentra.

They havent breached the cabin but its only a matter of time, I must have parked next to a nest or some shit its fucked.
They're not white ants/termites so they're not physically damaging anything they're just gross af.

So were making a bit of progress with the z32. having fun getting the connectors for the injectors out. also gonna bleed my cooling system again in the 240. /r/ing black gold's method for bleeding, i remember it involved jacking up the nose of the car and massaging the hoses to get the air bubbles out.

are 300zx rare in NY? they are in MI but that price is still high for NA-Auto.
Even with the mileage, it's still old so things wear out.
If it's clean and good service history, might be worth if you plan on keeping it long term

Also original bose system is pure shit without center speaker, you basically just have 4, 4.5in speakers with no low end.

Jack the nose up to get the air up, from there massage the air through the hoses out towards the bleed valve. However, if you don't jack the car up, the bleed valve is higher up than the rad cap and hoses so that will be the highest point on perfectly flat ground.

did the whole screwdriver in plug wire trick and checked for spark in every wire. all wires produced spark, also brand new spark plugs I don't think they could fuck themselves already. bad gas might be it, and i also think it flooded like a motherfucker from to much cranking.

Let it sit out and check the plugs, if gassy it could be running really rich. In that case it could be maf related telling the computer to spray more fuel.

Got kinda stuck behind a falcon today in my s15 through the windy hills roads, I was enjoying it though.
They were full on wide approaching corners and accelerating out, I was backing off 100m on entry then powering through and catching up.
I genuinely appreciated the effort considering how much body roll they were dealing with and the fact they were crossing the centre line and taking the corners close to the car they were ins limit.
Anyway got to an intersection where i was in left turning lane and the 65 yo driver was shaking his head and his wife was yelling angrily.
I imagine the feeling to be similar to one of those guys who bangs a keen as fuck chick then they try and press rape charges.

if you are truck motor it'll be fine on auto ecu, just no rev limiter, otherwise i think you just need to get the cable for the selector and make it think it's always in neutral and it should be fine

How does the 350Z compare to a E36 M3 after a few mods? Is the steering anywhere as good (Miata and 90s Civic/Integra are the best comparisons IMO)?

Does the car feel more agile/smaller than it actually is and feel more tossable (the one I drove felt like a bigger/heavier car than it actually was....like I'd have to drive like a complete reckless cunt on the street to have fun).

Are the non-Brembo brakes that crappy? I know the M3 has practically anchors (US/Euro M3s share same calipers/pads, only difference is solid vs floating rotors which isn't worth doing) and anything better would be something like brakes off a 996 911.

Just second guessing my car. I test drove a Z33 and wasn't crazy about it, but I have a feeling it was because I drove a beat to shit automatic car. Though its not like my M3 feels better (blown front shocks). I kinda wanna test drive a manual one in better shape at a dealer.

People seem to fuck shit up even with one, but yeah just don't over rev it. If you can drive you can hear and feel when it needs the next gear.

Lel old man in muh falcoon "dese fukn japanese pieces of shit". Whenever my gf starts complaining in my car I just tell her that she's been in it enough times to know what it's like, and if you don't like it don't come.
>>
>>14800987
you ka24de?
aslong as you don't pass 8k and your valvesprings aren't dead then it's ok, but you'll be waay past peak power unless you have cams, probably a good idea to get dual springs or something if you wanna sit up there.
i've been drifting it like that, only time it had a complaint was in 3rd when i tried to peg the limiter and saw there was none. it like it hit fuel cut and that was it. would have to peg it at 8+k for a decent bit for it to complain, just don't go past 8
it still rev limits at 5.5 in 5th clutched and still has the speed limiter. it's not socketed yet.
i'm not too worried since ka's are cheap here and i rarely rev it that high
>>
>>14801015
yeah my first car was manual
cant wait to get back in control of muh gears
>>
>>14800973
Can't comment on the m3, or the 350z technically but I drove my friends V35 (or whatever you call them in murica) and went in the car with him a fair few times through twisties, pretty much the same car. Went alright, it was really smooth and the engine was nice and torquey but handling wise it still felt like a big car. Even after we put BC coilovers in it I would easily out run it in my 180sx. Depends what you want it for though, because it was pretty fucking comfy to drive fast and it's still a fun car, but it never felt small or very nimble.
>>
>>14801043
You'll figure out when to shift pretty easy, I suppose you just have to be careful doing skids when there's nothing to bounce but your valves.
>>
>>14801015

Varietta bro here, off topic as fuck but have you had an LSD re shimmed in adelaide? Mines started to one wheel unpredictably.
If I drop the clutch it'll do two but when I clutch kick around corners it will occasionally one wheel and make me feel like a shit cunt as well as being crazy unpredictable haha.
It tends to slide when over 5000 rpm but anything under and I single peg of shame.

You can buy shims for like $20 from nissan, just need to find the part number. Those standard LSD's are shite though and shim will last you maybe 10k kms if you get an agressive one. If you're keen on doing a shim I get all my work that I don't do at Solid engineering and mechanical. Probably the only guys I take my car to anymore other than G7 for tuning. If you're gonna get someone to do your diff I reccomend having diff bushes done at the same time, may aswell while it's out. I'd be looking for a 1.5 way personally, I love my Kaaz 2 way but fuck it can be scary in the wet. It'll feel alot better to slide and you will never have to worry about one leg peg.

>>14801576
I find slower people usually pull over for me unless they are cunt holes, and the odd guy in his falcodore that tries to race me. Usually get a good run on the roads I drive though
>>
>>14801754
That makes sense with the 10k driving aggresively as im on 130xxx atm and the previously lady owner since import wouldnt have put enough strain on it to realize it needs a reshim.
My old vn had a detroit locker which was perfect but theyre drug money. i picked it up for $1200 with a supposedly "welded" diff. Almost jizzed when i saw what it actually was haha.
Opting for a reshim as I dont really wanna spend money on it as i'll get rid of the vert in > a year when I can legally go turbs again.
>>
>>14801998
Fair call, didn't realise it was n/a! Are they alright? It's only a 2l I suppose, I couldn't go back to driving non turbs now, trying to keep my lisence is hard though sometimes, car just constantly wants to rev.

All memes about n/a aside and as a person whose had s-Chassis turbos they actually go pretty hard.
They're an autech modified car in regards to the styling and mine also has the autech 147kw motor which makes the same power as a stock aus del turbo s15.
From what ive read they only made ~1100 variettas worldwide and <250 in manual form, and 40ish in pewter.
Was gonna go sr20de s13 or 180 but a good one was around 5500 and i picked this up for 8k, heated seats, dvd player etc and 0 cop attention so couldnt pass it up.
It also gets 550ks to a tank of city driving.
To be honest i just wanted something i could reliably drive for a year and not lose money on when i sell it on.
Ive kinda grown fond of it and have an s15 blacktop in my parents shed but im kinda 50/50 on whether to chuck it in or not when i can go turbs again.
