You could literally buy a E36 M3/RX-8 that'll give a better driving experience for the same amount of money or $2000 less.

You could buy a S2000 for $2000 more in similar shape.

You could get a FRS/BRZ just out of warranty for $3000-6000 more and get cheap financing rates on a used auto loan.

Just avoid ITRs unless you're determined to have one. Honest to god you'll get 80% of the driving experience of one just by owning a swapped DOHC VTEC Honda with a big rear swaybar that still kept PS/AC ($3000-5000). They're really overrated cars. And a huge theft risk. People still steal them out of driveways. Do you REALLY want to have to block in with other cars your car every time you get home? They're not cars you can go to the mall in and leave alone for 2 hours or so (yes, I've seen people case cars out at shopping malls/movie theater lots)
