Hey panther body guys
What's the sound that these things make when you first accelerate? It's a distinctive whirring noise that you can hear on the inside. I've always wanted to know what the sound was.

1st gear is almost straight cut. 2-4 are much more helical. This results in the noise you're talking about. Most people think it's the rear diff, but it's coming from the transmission.

Thank you

>automatic
>first gear is more straight cut
You have no fucking idea what you're talking about at all. That's not how automatics work. Op idk what your sound is but it most certainly doesn't stem from the reasoning above

Ah yes, the whirring/whooshing sounds, it was weird at first but IMO its a cool sound for a car to make whilst accelerating

My 2005 E-150 does the same thing. I'm convinced it's the transmission, and that nothing is wrong, since I am myself a service tech and went through it and it seems to all be in order. Fucker even chirps the tires in second gear.
Wait are we talking about that tweeting sound my car makes? I hadnt heard it before until I had a panther but it kinda had me worried. But the chain of events doesnt leave room for a sound like that as far as I understand it.
Modular engines have a distinctive whine to them.

That video I'd say had more Ford CII p/s pump whine than anything else.
1st and reverse gear always whines. But if you hear a similar whine except more buzz-like and primarily when cold it means your torque converter is about to explode.
