I just replaced an AC hose on my 1999 Isuzu Rodeo that got damaged

Related question, if my ac system's cooling ability seems to suffer the hotter it gets, would adding a can of the stuff in OP's pic be the answer.

You can't just charge it up after the system has been open to atmosphere. a refrigeration system should not contain any non condensibles like air. the system would need to be properly evacuated before adding refrigerant.

depends if your system is low on charge or not. if low on charge then yes. there may be other factors involved if not low on charge. check you A/C condenser, the aluminum radiator looking thing and check to see if it's clean. debris in the condenser will lower the capacity of the system.

Pull a vacuum through your system. Check for leaks. Then charge it with some gauges until you get good readings. Don't over/under charge it

There will be a sticker under the hood that will indicate the proper amount of refrigerant and oil that should be in the system, going by the gauge on one of those cans is absolutely incorrect.

$60 for a cheap manifold/guage set and around $100 for a evac pump. For one job its way cheaper to just pay the shop that is evacuating the system to fill it.
