You can measure loss.

Burning oil is actually a good thing. Instead of having dirty oil, you burn off small amounts and add small amounts every week. With this method you never need to do an "oil change" and your oil is always clean as well.

My 2013 WRX doesn't burn oil. 38,000 miles on it, all oil changes done with T6.
