Anyone else play Live for Speed at all? It seems to have the best Oculus support and after trying it I can't go back to a static view. Assetto has 0 support for it at this point with an up-to-date system, as far as I can see, which sucks because it's pretty much the reason I got the rift.

So, since people had fun in touge, and people want another light hearted and fun league, I've been thinking of making a similar to paul's league after legends ends in a couple of weeks.

And it will run on Assetto Corsa. Now before you go crazy about AC being being shit and how it has dodgy netcode and all that funk, do it if you want to after you finished reading this.

My concept is to have hot version themed battles. A different challenge or two every week. It could be japan vs america or whichever country, rally vs touring, turbo vs N/A, supercar vs tuner and so on. The possibilities are endless, and AC is the one game that can provide us with a plethora of cars to use. And one or two of the challenges(if we run more than two that is) could based on what you guys would want to do. The tracks will be mostly small and won't make the cars rely too much on horsepower. Also all the picks of the cars would be tested a bit, before getting an approved status. Nothing too crazy, but just checking lap times for way too fast cars. Of course, all cars are welcome, whether they be stock or mod content, but preferably non dlc cars for now.

I'm not aiming for extreme numbers, since things tend to get too erratic when more people are involved in these kind of races, so 10 or so drivers per week would be a great participation. Although, I wouldn't mind if even more people joined obviously. I mean, the more the merrier, but touge didn't attracted great numbers to begin with, due to it being a bit on the wacky side.

That's the concept for now. Server wise, I would love if we could run a dedicated server, but if I can't get a hold of someone who has one, I would take any volunteers to run a server, since my connection is poo.

Also if people would like it. We could do a quick thing tomorrow if people would like to see what the races would be like. Of course, most things I wrote above is a subject to change, so feel free to share your sentiments with me.

At around one and a half hour the test race starts, and since Cobra has not delivered, so we will not run the mx5, which is a shame since it was fun to drive around in tsukuba. The rest of the cars are in. This week is something that could qualify as fr vs ff with max 200 hp. All the stuff you need are a few posts before this one.

The gt86 is a jack of all trades, but it's easy to understeer.
The civic, the mito and the 500 are grip machines but lack a bit on acceleration
The fairlady is also good mid corner, but it's a handful to keep it steady.
And the fulvia is corners well as long as you are patient with the throttle. If you open it up too early, you will be in understeer city.

We were only 6 people, with only 4 being in the proper race since larguu was watching Nascar while driving and Tooley chose the wrong tires and therefore was just driving away w/o a problem
The race was pretty fun still, eventhough I wasn't used to how the car reacted with a full tank and my brake bias was a bit too far in the rear.

Depends on the game, racing games aren't usually very graphically intensive. If you're trying to play MW, you're probably fine with even a 400 series gtx, or hell maybe even an 8800.

I think that with even small-group multiplayer it would be a ton of fun. The physics feel very enjoyable, it's a perfect cruising sim. Plus, if they design proper wear for parts it would be the first car game with used cars that actually feel used and can slowly be restored.

Forgive the blogging but I think this is kind of important. The race weekend was awesome, working on a real race car with a real race team is one of the coolest things I've ever done.

One thing I did notice, however, is all the volunteer officials. They're all like a million years old. Half the dudes out flagging the corners look like they ought to be in the hospital.

I seriously have to encourage anybody with even a passing interest in racing to contact your local SCCA (or Europistan equivalent) chapter and get involved in volunteering. Road racing just isn't possible without volunteers. It really does seem like the numbers of the current crop are dwindling, they need all the new blood they can get. I know for sure that on weekends thay I can't find a team to wrench for, I'll be doing everything I can to get out there and start flagging.

He's right though. The thing keeping grassroots racing is, well, grassroots support. That means going racing, that means flagging, that means getting involved. Without volunteers and dedicated contributors, the gubmints going to take away our racecars. I mean, just look at the way the manual transmission is going, and self driving cars.

I really like it,eventhough there isn't much gameplay yet the maps available and the diverse car choice make it really fun to goof around in it. It's the only game I know of that has a skidplate car and it's so much fun to drive (see webm)

And the possibilites of what sort of racing you want to include are going to be huge. I think that one of the racing types that you could make with BeamNG would be local rallies, not racing top tier WRC cars but little shitboxes.
