The ZIL limousines might have been the official car for the first secretary of the communist Party, the Chaika was given as a protocol gift to any visiting ambassador as well as every new new first secretary in the socialist republics.
After Nikita Khrushchev, who prefered it to the ZIS-110 and ZIL-111, broke the protocol a couple times and used his own Chaika during official appearences, it was then also given as a personnal car to the first secretary of the Union
They are still often seen in receptions and other official events.

After all the politics had been taken care of, the unification of the two german football federations, signed in a Trabant 601 in november 1990.
Fiat Lingotto factory's rooftop, in Turin, Italy. Finished in 1923, this building was a major manufacturing plant; parts were handled in the first floors, while the buliding process of the cars continued to the upper floors. The finished cars came out on the test track, built on the rooftop of the building.
It was closed down in 1982, but it's still open to public today.
