Are you talking about getting one drive wheel off the ground and then trying to move? If so, no, because some LSDs don't work at all if one wheel is in the air. Lockers are easy, just do a full lock turn on pavement.

Of course, it does skidz in the dry with 275s so this might not be 100% applicable, so do what my plan B was and put 1 wheel on dirt and the other on road.

Well with both on dirt, from a full stop, it spun them both.

It don't have a factory LSD but the covers been off the rear differential, and it used to be a field truck by the muddy ass coast.

My open diff FWD would light both up in the dry, you need to make sure one is noticeably more slippery than the other.
1 on dirt, 1 on road. If it's a proper LSD it'll spin both.

What is it a miata? Full lock in a car park/open space and accelerate slowly more and more til you lose traction, if you slide then lsd, if its a black perfect circle then unlucky.
Also most open wheel diffs are capable of spinning 2 in the right circumstances or weld it/L2 scandi flick.

It wont do any damage it should start to either step out or put a one wheel line down at 15mph @ full lock, just back off straight away.
Another alternative is jack up both rears and spin one by hand, if the opposing wheel spins in the opposite way it isnt lsd.
