So, my dad wants to get a 2015 BMW X6, preferably an xDrive 35i, but I've heard a lot of negative things about them. I honestly don't see much wrong with the car and he seems to really like it. He can afford the car, that's not a problem and we're ausfags. Because I'll be driving it too, I'd like to know what /o/ thinks and if I should convince him to look at other options.

Kill your dad.

do you want to own something that feels like a sportscar with a 8 inch lift on it?
>top heavy
>ruined aerodynamics
>still no backseat room
>no offroad capability
>too short to fall into and to tall to hop into
>ruined mpg's
etc

Crossovers are lame, usually only women like them. Tell him to buy a 5 series sedan instead.
it's ugly as fuck and has no benefit over an x5, in fact it's less cargo space
so you pay more to get an uglier car that's less practical
i always wonder what the fuck is wrong with the people who buy X6s and GLEs. Are they fuckin blind?
Get a 5er like the other anon said.

your dad has arab-tier (awful) taste
Fuck everyone here. I like the x6.
>>14625764
It's an amazing car for what it is, but what it is is a pointless class that has to little utility to justify its size and lift.
Tell him to buy an M4 or a Range Rover.

your dad's leb fucking scum

He was also considering a Range Rover, either a sport or an Evoque, but I've heard they have a lot of reliability issues, at least more than the BMW would have, am I right in thinking that?
>>14625764
Literally an X5 with all practicality removed. Honestly, have him look at the X5 instead, as it's cheaper and more practical.
>>14627841
this
The x6 is the gnarliest beamer you can buy, don't listen to these cucks who get passed by cool cars while sitting on the bus
>>14625764
have him tell you why does he want this over a 5er or x5
>>14629049
ew
>>14628873
the evoque is way sexier
>>14625764
If he wants to keep it for more than 50,000 its a bad idea. Everything on any of the X series starts going wrong after that point, suspension gives out and oil and transmission leaks EVERYWHERE. If he wants a BMW tell him to get a sedan, if he wants a crossover tell him to get a Lexus.

It's fine for the first approx. 75k miles
BUT when the computer-controlled-everything starts breaking down you're in for an expensive high-maintenance headache where you will then understand why most only lease new ones as to not suffer that terrible depreciation.

He loves the look of the x6, and he has a friend that let him drive it. Also, I forgot to mention he already owns a 2001 325i, so he's in the market for an SUV.
