I have a 13' wrx hatch and I definitely suggest it. But I do agree that the hawkeye looks better. You might face some reliability issues though with it being a 10 year old car.

My female life companion is saying that our Civic is getting ratty. She asked me what car we should get next. There was a WRX turning right next to the car as she said this, so I pointed at it and said that we will get that one in blue. It has four doors and can fit my future sons.

Should I wait for the STI to get that new engine? There's no point in getting these shits used.

go with the 06, will cost less up front and the STi drivetrain has been the same literally since 05 so the fact that it is newer will mean nothing unless the 06 was poorly taken care of

I've got an 08 hatch, but there's always gonna be that special place in my heart for the 04-07 blobeye/hawkeye models.

both your choices are solid OP, but yeah the 06 might need more work + $$$ if you're prepared for it.

Pretty good, and more comfortable than I would have thought at first.
Not great on fuel mileage but it's tolerable. I put about $45 of petrol into it
