>Doing a tablet install in my car with a nexus 7 on top of the dash like in a lot of modern cars
>Buy everything and test fit
>Tablet reflects off the windscreen horribly at night and is distracting.
How do car makers get round this?

Matte screens?

You can get matte anti glare covers for a nexus 7 but I'm not sure how that would prevent reflections. Seeing as reflections are caused by light not how shiny something is. And putting one of those screen covers on doesn't reduce the amount of light the screen casts off.
I've ordered one off ebay to try any way.

Matte screens and shrouds.
But a lot of stock dash displays also reflect like crazy.
Why not just get a proper Android Auto head unit now day? They make one for like $400

Because my car doesn't have a double din radio hole.

Why on earth would you ever get this over a Boxster/Cayman?
>matte anti-glare screen protector
>recess the tablet a bit if you can
>set the tablet's auto-brightness to a setting you like
>make the tablet angled towards you slightly within its bracket

hud mode!

By making windows smaller, obviously.

Because you're getting a $50 chinese tablet with a $30 chinese amp for $400.
Seriously, look at the specs of those units. They all run nigger tier CPUs like Allwinner, and Android 4.4 at best.

1. You can't get a Boxter or a Cayman for £2500
2. >Maintaining a Porsche.
>>14586714
Not the chink shit you see on eBay, actual Android Auto head units, JBL makes one for $400
>>14586720
You can actually get a Boxster for as little as £2500, thought I'd recommend spending double that for a good one
And most of the money for maintaining a Porsche goes towards labour, which you can do yourself for free

My dad mounted a tablet in his VE and hooked it up to the OBD. Pretty impressive stuff, really responsive too.
