Please tell me I'm not the only one who's this autistic
>>

Nobody's observant enough to notice that.
At best, they'll think you put it in park.
but yes I do this too
>>
>>14512204
I took my reverse lights outta my automatic car so I can reverse at traffic lights and it looks like manual rollback for the street credits.
>>
>>14512204
if it don't roll back why not?

Guilty
>>
Oh, normies like me just think your brake lights are broken. I don't pay attention to gay shit like that.
>>
>>14512220
If I don't shift into first as I'm rolling to a stop its 100x harder to put it in gear. Shifting to first from a stop is hard, gotta jam it in. Any idea why that might be
>>
>>14512296
it should be the opposite. Reverse your gears
>>
>At stoplight
>Roll back
>Car behind me freaks out and starts honking because he's too close and thinks I'll bump into him
>>
>>14512296
Clutch not disengaging properly or synchro is shot.
>>
>>14512220
Yeah for real.
>burning your clutch up like that
>>
>>14512314
>at stoplight
>rollback
>panic
>floor it
Tire screeching followed.

I need to practice.
>>
>>14512360
I once watched 5 Hondas with standard transmissions run into each other, because the guy up front started to roll back, panicked and killed it, and the rest of the line wasn't ready to brake after shifting into first. Good times.
>>
>mfw i do this too
>mfw engine brake instead of regular braking to not turn on break lights in slowish traffic
>>
>>14512335
Having the clutch fully engaged will not burn it up.
>>
>>14512372
I am aware of that, but a lot of people add unnecessary wear by not engaging the clutch fully at a stoplight.
>>
>>14512272
I know dude
>on pretty steep hill
>fuck it don't feel like holding the car in place with revs
>turns green like 4 cars in front of me
>roll a little
>dude behind me get's pissed and starts to honk
>I drive away and everything is fine
Why are people so fucking retarded and on top of that leave no room for people sometimes?
>>
>>14512204
>not just putting it in neutral
why?

also I don't trust retards to not have my brake lights on at a light
>>
>>14512391
People don't understand how manual transmissions work, and that it's hard to get almost no rollback on a steep hill. I guess they think you're not paying attention.
>>
>>14512365
Yep I try to avoid braking as much as possible as well, same with my auto trans cars - rather shift down in manual mode than pushing the brake pedal.

what the fuck, I figured they'd be bros. they have manuals too, they know how it is. why? why would one do that?
>>
>>14512305
Reverse my gears? Like take them out and turn them around?
>>
>>14512408
>and that it's hard to get almost no rollback on a steep hill.
Nope. If you're a noob you can use the handbrake and release it when the clutch starts to bite, or you can heel-toe it if you're feeling particularly tagumi.
>>
>>14512413
Because it's 'badass' to be as close to a car as you can and then cry like a little bitch when you get hit and play the muh riders have rights too card

You are putting un-nessicary strain on your shitbox just to look cool to the 1% of drivers that are paying attention to other people who want to notice them for driving manual.

There's your answer. City drivers are assholes.

I know people think this about me right until the end the way I coast and engine brake to stops

>literally slow down to 5-10 mph constantly before braking
>>
>>14513851
are you me? I'm usually at the point of idling in first before I brake
>>
>>14513923
I feel so accomplished if I can stop at the line at the light with out using my brakes at all, then put my foot on the brake just to show the car following that my brake lights do work and that I'm just a badass
>>
>>14512204
There is nothing worse than some dick sitting in front of you on a dark night in the rain with his foot on the brake and a 50,000,00000 lumen third brake light. Were they never taught how to drive?
>>
>>14514389
But that is the way people are taught how to drive, so that if they get rear ended they don't roll forward.

I don't think it has ever worked prolly just get closer and closer
>>
>>14515203
He's right though, dumbass. It doesn't "burn the clutch up" it just reduces the lifespan of the release bearing.
>>
>>14514976
>But that is the way people are taught how to drive,

Who teaches that? You should be in nutral or park with the handbrake on, if you are rear ended your foot may come off the pedal(s) if you are in gear you won't roll forward you will drive forward into the car in front. Sitting with your foot on the brake is a "major demerit" (read instant fail) on your test in the civilised world.
>>
>>14515256
Everyone teaches that, go look at any driving instruction video, article, driving school, whatever.

The whole point is that if you get hit from behind you don't fly into the guy in front of you, or anywhere at all.

Driving tests are pretty much useless for actual driving practices.
>>
>>14512204

Tomorrow op gets read ended by some clown, because he isn't sitting on his brake he rolls into an intersection and gets t boned by a semj

Pretty simple
>>
I have a tiptronic trans in my car and most of the time my car doesn't move or rolls a little when i lift the brake so i take just a second longer and pretend in shifting into gear at lights from neutral and "manually" drive for a bit. A couple of faggots have streetlight raced me because of it but they really raced themselves cause im just autistic and don't even go fast when i do it. I make sure to keep the revs audible enough to really send it home.

>>14515256
You're a fucking moron.
>>
>>14515256
on flat surfaces, you should be on neutral on a stop.
If you apply any kind of brake (foot or handbrake) in the case you are rear-ended, your car will be smashed and you'll probably die because it will be absorving all the impact forces. If you're in Park, you will also blow the transmission.
On neutral, if you are hit, you will be pushed forward by the impact, and could maneuver to safety, legal actions and a less damaged car.
>>
Only time I roll back a little is on steep hills. I do it if I think someone if going to get really close to my bumper, so mostly soccer mom's in SUVS, cause I don't want to roll back into them so I just kinda spook them into giving me space.
>>
>>14512204
nigga just put it in neutral.

but uh yeah i see what you mean. a fucking sorority twat just pulls behind you a cunt hair from your rear bumper. I'm fucking terrified at every occurrence when a woman is on the road. period

>>
>>14516419
But that's wrong you retard
>>
>>14512204
You're wearing out the diaphragm spring when the release bearing is pushing the pressure plate. Just put it in neutral and hold your brake. No one cares if you have a manual. You think someone is going to go "Wow, look at that guy. He's got a manual. Must be a really good driver."
Jesus.

That mini-heart attack when auto users put them from park to drive and their reverse lights turn on for a second.
