Who here loves fuel efficiency? I know I fuckin do.

The new Mazda skyactiv technology rivals volkswagens turbo Diesel engines. Schwing, right?! I couldn't believe it. But now I do.
For those about to drive efficiently, we salute you.

Talk about fuel efficient cars and the sick mileage they get and how the extra money in your pocket makes you the man.

No replacement for displacement you faggot
>>
>mfw went from a truck that did 300 miles per tank to a car that does 500 and can fill up for less than $20
>>
>>14502293
There's also no replacing the money you lose by not driving a fuel efficient vehicle you idiot. And for what? Going to the mall?

You're the kind of person that retires with no money because you wasted it all on useless things.

>>
I'm going to buy a CRX soon so that I can enjoy m-muh MPGs and still have a fun car.
>>

Motorcycle. Haha.

I dislike you. Get out of my thread this is for likeminded people. You come in here thinking you are the man but you are not the man. You ride motorcycle and have a v8 car. Talk about autism. Bye bye.

Just bought an 06 Civic EX, holy hell this thing is great for efficiency.

I get some nice fuel efficiency in my FiST even after hooning it around.
>>
>>14502286
Fuel economy is a nice luxury to have on top of the stuff that's actually important, but no way would I buy a car just because it had good fuel economy.

My commute allows me to use this.

It's mostly back roads. It can go up to 55, no problem and has not problem climbing any hill.

And it gets infinite mpgs.

I had fun, though. I'm going to retire knowing I didn't waste all my time saving up for a time where I'd have no energy or physical strength to do half the shit I saved up for.

It's 70cc. I put 5€ of petrol in it every three to four weeks, I think.

When was skycucktive officially put into production vehicles? I still have yet to see any rear world long term durability reports on these engines, running in a test cell doesn't count...
I just can't see a 14:1 CR engine dragging along a pigfat body and lasting that long.

inb4 muh high compression bike engine is still going...

In my occupation I meet so many people who are planning on saving MILLIONS for retirement. Like wtf are you going to do with all that money when you can barely move.

I don't mind fuel efficiency though, iv hypermiled before but none of my shit boxes are very efficient. Tbh just get a motorbike for your daily commute in good weather and a thirsty v8 for fun
>>

>riding motorcycles unironically

>>

I don't ride one, but I may in the future when I can afford to drop enough money on proper gear / insurance for something I'll drive once a week.

Right now I bike to work, on bike paths (so fuck outta here with your road hate), at a decent pace. Then I drive my v8 87 Trans am for fun.

Enjoy your overweight body
>>
I drive a supercharged v8.
I get 11mpg in the city.
>>
>>14503516
bicycles are fine to be honest family, I'd love to bike to work but 25+ miles one way isn't really feasible
>>
>>14503538
The dream
>>
>>14503546
Yeah, my daily bike commute is about 12-15km one way depending on if I take streets or bike paths. Takes me around 30-45 minutes. There's so much nature on the way, really brightens up my mornings.

When I started it seemed like alot of work but now it feels like I get to work very quick.
>>
it would be cool to get a vw tdi beater while diesel prices are low and sell it when they rise again

i could use it for school and work as well as long road trips and keep the infiniti for other stuff

40 miles for $1.50 sounds far better than 15-17 for $2.80
>>
>>14503630

It doesn't fucking matter. If you save $1.50 on gas your just gonna spend $10 at McDonald's anyways... If you need to calculate shit down to the cent like that then you should probably take the bus.
>>
>>14502286
Problem.
Skyactiv is petrol. Skyactiv-D is high performance diesal.

The people who can afford to drive flashy cars can afford to put the premium gas in them.

The people who can't afford those cars have to get cheaper ones that happen to be better on gas...but that's part of being cheaper. It's the cost of ownership.

Obviously you do get rich guys driving economy cars because they don't give a fuck about having a status symbol or don't care about cars that much in general, or you get poorer people financing sports cars and putting every penny they earn into them because it's their passion, or because they're stupid and want to impress people. But you get what I'm saying.

Don't get me started on that "daily driver" shit of owning and financing two cars. This only makes sense if you have a family and are reasonably wealthy, but it's definitely not saving any money.
>>
>>14503829
>owning two cars
I own two <$5k shitboxes that are both good on fuel economy.... am I not saving any money?
>>
>>14502774
Supersports do around 38-40mpg, and literbikes do around 30mpg.
>>

No regrets, anon. Soccer moms will gasp in horror and their broken husbands gaze at you in envy.

Children will ask what that ungodly noise is, and their parents will try to discourage them. "Son," said the father, "you should drive a Prius like I do, and buy your wife a crossover." He tells the lad to appease the shrew he married, but the seeds are already planted.

Skyactiv is literally just a meme badge.
If you want truly efficient petrol engines, google "multiair technology."

OK buddy

Supercharged v8 here as well. Went from 11 to 13 average mpg. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I'm talking city only, if I add highway in it gets up to 14ish. Highway only I hit 30 once.
>>

Sure, that's why Fiat engines are way more reliable than anything Mazda has ever produced.
>>
Fuck off mazda shills
>>
>>14502712
My Celica just got the fuel tank replaced because there was a hole in it.

Fuel mileage should improve just in time for me to sell it so I can drive around my newly purchased Equinox Sport.
>>
>>14506456

That's really not saying much, Mazda engines are shit. When you think reliability Toyota and Honda instantly pop into your mind, not immigrant tier Mazda.
>>
>>14506497
Fiat engines are quite reliable anyway.
People just associate the lack of reliability to the past fiats, and even then the engines were pretty much bulletproof, the only issues were electric gremlins and general build quality.
>>
>>14506523

>Fiat engines are quite reliable anyway

Maybe compared to other Italian engines but not compared to normal engines that don't blow up on the way to the pizzareia.
>>
>>14506497
>Mazda engines
Proof?
Every Mazda I've ever owned has been amazing. Ever my rx7
>>
>>14506541
They are reliable compared to every other engine. I had a mate running insane amounts of boost on a Uno turbo and that shit lasted for ages.

You have multijet engines with 500k running great with maintenance only.

I used to get around 50 miles per galon with my Audi A4 2.5 V6 diesel.
Now I get 40 MPG with my Mercedes Benz 2.7 5cyl diesel and 36 MPG with my BMW E65 3.0 inline 6 diesel. Quite economical for near 2 ton land bargea. Neat sound and lots of torque(400nm for the Benz, 500nm for the BMW). Also diesel is much cheaper than petrol where I live

My summer DD is a motorcycle and my winter DD is a 16 year old civic. Love having a weekend car though! Really considering a new Mazda when the civic finally eats it; used to work at a Mazda dealership and never found a flaw as far as basic daily goes
