>insurance is $100 per month with liability alone

JUST

how much do you pay for insurance, how old you you have to be before it starts getting cheaper
>>
25 is when the first big drop happens. Drive safe, don't get tickets, don't be a retard, it'll go down on its own in time. Until then, remember that driving is a privilege and not a right.
>>
>37
>$2k full coverage
>1 sportbike and an ap1

It gets cheaper when you get married. My buddy is 24, married, 6 speeding tickets and he pays next to nothing on auto/motorcycle insurance.
>>
>>14500183
I'm 26 and I pay 65 a month for full coverage on my Tahoe. When I turned 25 (no tickets since high school) it dropped down to 45 a month from 75, but I got 2 tickets in 6 months. Both were bullshit, but I lost in court.
>>
I'm 26 and I pay $1200 annually to insure a brand new Porsche with comprehensive and collision.

Do you have a bad driving record or something? Did you not get your license/insurance as soon as you turned 16?
>>
>>14500207
Got it when I was 15, nothing on my record.

I also think its odd how my 03 4 cylinder accord has slightly higher quotes than a 03 mustang gt
>>
>>14500183
I'm 26,single and have my house and two vehicles bundled together. No accidents and haven't had a speeding ticket in a few years. My rates went down when I turned 26, but only a little bit.
'98 Jeep Wrangler - $39/month full coverage
'14 Harley Sportster - $41/month full coverage

Shit, nigga. I"m 27 and only pay $57, and I live in a city. Somehow it got cheaper by moving here from suburbs, there must be some mathematics fuckery with car ownership per population or something.
>>
I'm 20 and pay $300 every 6 months on insurance. Not too bad
>>
Around $100 a month for two 1994 cars, basic liability with Progressive.

>wonder how much it would decrease if I removed one
>remove 94 Corolla
>drops to around $70 a month
>remove 94 Civic
>drops to $80 a month

>The four door automatic bluish green Corolla costs more to insure than the two door manual red hatch that is notorious for being owned by boyracers

OK. Maybe because it's the CX trim?
>>
>>14500236
the fuck

what insurance do you have, mine is almost twice that and im the same age
>>
>>14500257
Where you live can change everything. Mine is only high because people in Louisiana can't drive for shit.
>>
>>14500264
I live in kansas city, voted the "nation's best drivers"

>mfw a turbo surpa cost less to insure than my accord
>>
>>14500220
Its because they people who buy accords crash into people more often than mustang drivers.
>>
>>14500257

StateFarm or Farmers, legit cannot remember off the top of my head
>>
>>14500183
NC doesn't strictly base it on age, they go by how long you've had your license.

I was paying about $60/mo for full coverage on a 2002 hyundai elantra, I should be paying a little less for my 2001 blazer, I haven't got the bill yet after the switch.

Reporting from the country with some of the highest insurance rates in Europe and probably the world (Italy).

I pay about 1k € a year for a car that is worth about 5k€ now. Liability, vandalism, natural events, glass, free tow, theft and arson.

It dropped a lot when I turned 25 (most of the insurance companies here consider you an "experienced driver" when you go past 25).
There is also a law that allows you to get the same risk class as the relative with the lowest risk in your family (only if you still live with them tho), so I could start from the lowest risk rank or I would be probably paying double that by now.

When I scrapped my old car it was worth less than 2k € and I was paying around 1,7k a year with liability, vandalism protection and free tow only. And I was in the lowest risk rank.

Shit sucks here, insurance scams are so fucking rampant in certain parts of the country that insurance companies are outright closing their offices and leaving the place. There are millions of cars with no insurance out there and nobody bothered to make an unified database, so, despite all the new fancy plate scanning tech, the police still can't know if you are insured or not just by reading your plate.
>>
own a '00 523i 170 hp 2,5l
paying about 1500 a year, not full coverage.
Its so expensive cuz i had three accidents with my first car, '07 Corsa D 80hp 1,2l. Top Score: 3200 €/year for that Corsa.
>>
>>14500183
>2000 honda accord insurance
oh hey anon, I also drive a 4 door 5 speed 2000 accord!

i pay $313 annually for pretty much every possible insurance :^)

Yeah okay.
>>
>>14501345
>27yo
>no at fault accidents since 18
>1 TL that was the result of flooding
>no tickets of any sort on record
why would my roadside assistance cost anything, family? Short of getting married and having a kid, I don't think I could be any less risk for state farm.

if it makes you feel any better, my 2015 street triple rx is $480/yr, but I also live in a neighborhood in brooklyn with the highest rates of theft :^(
>>
>>14500867

Canada reporting in, I pay about $480/month for my car, standard deductible etc. New driver, never had any tickets, accidents, and I went to driving school. Its extortion. you think your $100/month is bad people? could be worse.
>>
>>14501387
It's not that bad, but considering I'm in the lowest rank and I took advantage of every "loophole" existing to pay less, it's almost scary.

Here you are ranked on a scale from 1 to 15 or 20 IIRC with 1 being the lowest risk, when you first get an insurance you start on the 14th rank and you go down two ranks every 2 years if you never cause accidents (tickets don't influence your insurance here).
I never started that high because I took my father's rank, but if I were to be that high in the risk scale right now I would be probably paying as much or more than you do.

You are right, it's a fucking extortion
>>

Being married and a homeowner helps, too.

I pay $700/yr for full coverage on my Audi convertible, and my wife pays $600 per year for full coverage on her Mini.
>>
I pay 70 euro's a year. I drive a 86 Celica.

Honda's have a high rate of being stolen/damaged/raced.

That is why. Especially coupes.

Nigga you don't even know how nice you have it until you've had a car in Austria.
>>
>>14500359
Why do a lot of provinces rape us so hard with insurance? It's not like the companies have to pay most medical bills, shouldn't we get it cheaper?

Maybe snow increases the claim rate? But then we'd be paying what the northern states do.. But we don't.

I pay 1500 maple bucks per year for a base model ford focus. Less because of an obdII insurance stick, but it makes driving more dangerous and less fun.
>>
>>14501532
>insurance stick
Gross

I don't know man, I heard people say it's because of populations density, but that excuse makes more sense for ISPs and those guys are still robbing us regardless

1996 F-150

I just turned 25 2 months ago. My driving record has a 3.5 year-old reckless driving incident, 1 failure to yield, and various ancient speeding infractions.

The only reason I have progressive is because they were able to cover me before these infractions "expired". I could probably switch to a cheaper company now.

I have collector's insurance for my 75 International and 73 Electra Glide. Full coverage for both together is $15 a month and there's no yearly mileage limits.
>>
>>14501994
Who do you do the collector's insurance through?
>>
Wtf?

How do you gets get such cheap insurance rates?

I'm 19 and drive an old ass corolla and I pay fucking 400 dollars a month. Never been in an accident and I have 0 speeding tickets. On my mother's plan who also has a clean record.

Makes zero sense to me.
>>
>>14500867
Mama mia that's a spicy meatball.
>>
>>14502018
Hagerty. Their requirements are pretty easy to meet compared to other companies. Has to be garaged and you have to have another vehicle on a different insurance plan in order to qualify. Other than that they don't care how much you drive it. I DD the corn binder all year except winter.

>>14500220
That's because Accords/civics are fucking everywhere and are usually driven by idiots, they're also statistically near the top for collision rates by model.

Also, 03 mustangs are ugly as fuck and only women drive them so that helps the rates too.
>>
1070$ year. very low quality of insurance

I didn't shop around when I got mine because I try to keep all my financial services with them so idk if i could have gotten mine any cheaper, but probably not since I have this huge ass legacy discount.
But their customer service is way better than anyone else I've ever had to deal with. All it ever takes with them is one phone call and its problem solved right away.

>>
>>14501556
It did take 25% off my rate, so I'm down to around 1100 now. But the "rapid de/acceleration" threshold is really low and you go over it during normal, non-spirited driving all the time. Makes me run yellow lights always.

Cooperators bases it out of 30 percent: 5 acceleration, 5 braking, 10 time of day driving and 10 amount driven. Then they'll give up to 25 percent off. So even being a teenage boiracer you'll get 20 percent if you don't drive that often. Worth it for a student.
