Im seeing on the get good site you guys still use the first rFactor game for some races rather than rfactor2, what gives? should i download both? there dont seem to be any settings to adjust the steering deadzone, guess theres a mod for that?

Turnleft is in rFactor 2.
In both of these games you should be able to adjust the deadzone somewhere in the controls panel.

I've put my race setup on the doc. It's just the same as my quali one except with more fuel and mediums.

It's optimised for mashing the brakes because I drive like that too (pedal force is down to 60kg). It doesn't lock up much without ABS but I always have ABS+TC on anyway. Go easy on the throttle if you have TC off though, the front tyres are prone to getting rekt quickly if you spin them up.

I've put the max steering lock of 26 deg in (seems to work ok with 450 deg wheel rotation), but you can change this and the braking force yourself before getting into the car. It's probably best if everyone has their own version of the setup saved with their preferred steering/braking settings so they can load it quickly just before doing the driver swap. Brake bias is the other adjustment that can be customised, but you can change this on the fly anyway.

I'm not a setup expert though so if you want to improve the base setup (or just find it completely undriveable) speak now or forever hold your t.

ISI's rFactor 2 Physics Calculator spreadsheet has been updated today rather quietly.

I don't know what changed. However there are some interesting tidbits of info (to me anyway): The spreadsheet supports up to 16 levels of TC and ABS (literally zero mods make use of this so far, probably an upcoming feature) and rFactor 2 not only has turbo simulation, but it can simulate two turbos at the same time.

The spreadsheet is pretty comprehensive, even if its very much a work in progress. Certainly helpful when modding, and a small look into what makes isiMotor tick

Well sure. One of the reasons iRacing was lazy as shit about adding the IndyCar was because they couldn't do turbos until the McLaren GT3 either.

But considering the cars ISI added turbo support for twin turbos are pretty much a given. Actually there's so few important single turbo cars out there these days that it would be pretty pointless for any sim other than a dedicated F1 game to only support one turbo.

When you get a new car in GT6, is it necessary to do an engine rebuild? or is the engine considered to be 'fresh'?

Do an oilchage on a new car, if you notice a loss of power after a couple of races do another one.

You'd have to do a ton of races or one of the endurance events until you have to do an engine rebuild

I don't really know about the body rigidity thing, I tried it once with the GTR I did most of the singleplayer races with and I think made the car feel a noticably stiffer and more agile. Give it a shot I guess

But, again you probably have to do a ton of races and crashes for this to make a difference

Also, you don't start to lose power from the oil going bad until 100+ miles in, usually around 130-150 miles. Body rigidity seems to start failing around 300 miles depending on the car, once that happens I recommend only the restoration, not improvement.

The Stock Car series is on Saturdays, that was posted a few threads ago. We figured since there was no other Saturday series going on there was no reason not to run it then. Th-th-th-thanks guys. Been putting in some good results outside of ovg recently. I was really awful when I started here, but I put a lot of effort into ovgtp and it paid off. I was pretty good in the stock cars as well, a far cry from being, I think it was 8 seconds of something off pole in my first race.

Also, you'll see a lot of fast guys don't actually have very good racecraft - they're used to blowing people the fuck out, so when they actually have to battle with them, or change what they're doing to adjust for slower drivers, they'll fuck it up. I don't know if I can be considered fast. I think my experience from the legends in iRacing helped, since those things would snap oversteer 7/10 times when you slid them, so I was hardened by them, compared to the rFactor ones. Larguu seems like he has the general idea of sim racing down, so he can be good at anything he tries, much like that kid back in elementary, that was decent in all sorts of sports.
