Don't do it.
You'll hate it.
I made the compromise and thought it wouldn't be that bad.
It is THAT bad.
>>
>>14433832
Hardtop is an option, although it won't be the same thing as a real roof.
>>
>>14433832
NAs aren't fast and don't really handle that good. They're fun to drive don't get me wrong, but a Focus SVT would blow an NA out of the water and is even faster and better handling than a NB.

Wouldn't that just be due to the tires and relatively soft stock suspension? Those things are easily fixed. Suspension geometry being good is what you want.

my other choices were an rx8 and 370z for roofs though, and they both have their problems (weight/reliability). i'm just stuck on what car to pick that has a solid balance in suspension control, frame stiffness, weight distribution, and cost. honestly if the NA had a solid roof i would have taken it instantly. fuck man.
>>
>>14433888
So RX7 seems to be your answer
>>
>>14433897
rx7s are expensive as hell though. they don't go under 10k no matter the condition.

>physicists are regularly employed within areas such as radiology, radiation oncology and nuclear medicine, in order to test and approve the latest technologies and equipment. As well as testing, responsibilities in this area include research, design and quality assurance.

Research-based roles in this field are available within medical technology companies, healthcare providers, research centers and academic institutions. Knowledge of accelerator physics, radiation detection and materials science is valuable for many of these roles, and a master’s degree in a relevant specialization (e.g. medical physics) will also give you a leg up into the industry.

NA Miatas are old now. Some test drives are shit because the car has 150k miles on it and haven't been touched or there's something wrong with it etc. If you go drive a WELL SETUP one that hasn't been fucked over then you will love it.

The miata may be mediocre for a sports car, but believe me when I say that it has one of the largest and most supportive fanbases out there. Any problem, any part, most likely has a solution already posted in a forum thread somewhere.

The aftermarket is so fucking huge and competitive that the prices are ridiculously cheap. A NEW year specific miata turbo kit from BEGi can be bought for like $3k or something and make 230 at the wheel reliably. You don't even have to touch the engine or harness to do it it's so easy. That's just the power aspect of the miata. The suspension and chassis stuff is just as available and cheap. You can buy frame rails for about $100 and then the rest of the sway bars for $300. That includes bushings for the end links and bar.

Like I said, it may be shit stock but it's potential is there.

Miatas are a fun car and with tires and minimal work.
Not much from the 90s will compete with its modern day counterparts. So while they have the fag tax discount applied to them they are a great deal for a little fun roadster

Last 2 yes, first one no.
>>
You can sometimes find them but I think you guys underestimate Honda fanboys and how many shitboxes are overpriced right now.
>>
>>14434342

It does

The Miata is still more fun because you can throttle steer and drift it.

>>14434347
They are, when you find one that isn't run into the ground. Miatas were mostly second cars that were well taken care of.

Front Wheel Bearings and Motor Mounts (specifically the rear T-Bracket one) aside everything to do on my Hondas has been piss easy.
>>
>>14434539
No no, I said yes to the last two. Finding a cheap , decenrly sporty honda worth owning is the hard part.
>>
>>14434571
I never understood this:

Literally every 88-00 Civic and 90-01 Integra. They made literally hundreds of thousands if not a million in 10+ years, its the 21st Century '32 Ford/'40 Willys/'57 Bel Air.

Are they getting harder to find? Sure; especially if you want a 92-95 car (OBD1; but built during a time of notoriously poor rustproofing/paint due to a rushed switch to water based paint) or if you live in the Northeast/Midwest (rust)

Can you still find them? Very easily; no excuses if you live in a large area where they were sold new (California and the Northeast). You might have to find a automatic and swap it. Or you might have to buy one already swapped with work done to it and fix whatever stupid fucking problems come up as you own it.

That said I've had 5 already; fun but I still wish I had my Miata.
>>
>>14434409
You underestimate miata fanboys
>>
is there any car that's under 2500lbs, has a stiff frame, has a double wishbone suspension, and it under 5k used? i'm pretty sure there's nothing that fits this bracket.
>>
>>14434864
most 80s-90s honda
also miata isnt stiff
>>
>>14434864
No;

Anything with a stiff chassis would be built after 2000 at the very minimum late 1990s. A "Honda DOES NOT have a stiff chassis; only "stiff enough" (key difference, chassis stiffness and weight are directly proportional; more weight = more rigidity, most of the weight gain from newer cars has been in passive safety IE stiffer unibodies and chassises).

Anything built after 2000 with a double wishbone suspension would be a very small minority of cars; even without the $5k used limit.

None of those cars are under 2500lbs; except for maybe a NC/ND Miata. A C5 Corvette/RX-8 could come close but those are 500-600lbs heavier. IS300 could come close too but doesn't have good steering/chassis feedback; IMO.

Buy a motorcycle. None of what you want in a car actually matters. I suggest a nice 5-10 year old R6/CBR600RR. Get a nice little commuter with the money left over; like a 10-15 year old Corolla/Civic/Camry. Throw a tow hitch on it and go to the track with the bike.
>>
>>14434903
A 80s-90s Honda is not stiff at all. You're absolutely idiotic if you think its anywhere close to stiff. I've totaled out a 92 Civic Sedan from rear ending and sliding under a CRV at 15-20mph. The torque box on the pass side frame rail was tweaked, pass door was noticeably harder to shut.

They are STIFF ENOUGH for their weight; Not stiff at all. Its why the DC2R gained a ton of chassis rigidity crap (thicker sheetmetal on strut towers, additional gussets and welds on wheel arches and suspension points, even thicker roof rails) compared to a regular 94-01 Integra.

At the end of the day "rigidity" is a meme. You'll likely never reach a level where getting car X over Y is better because you can notice how much stiffer it is. A stiffer car only really helps in crash test ratings and noise/vibration reduction.

finding a cheap jap from the 80's/90's is easy. It just doesn't compare to the prices you'll get for spare parts on a Miata. Unless you live near Vancouver where you can get cheap parts from across the Pacific, good luck finding cheap spare parts.

But that's not even true. There's no reason to resort to that. I don't think I've ever even seen a rusty miata
>>
>>14435661
A 3k miata isn't going to pass any kind of inspection unless it's a "is this car ahit inspection"
>>
>>14435682

>>
>miata is fun
never understood this meme. it's so fucking slow and loud inside.
and not the good kind of loud, just the sound of wind from a shitty soft top loud
or the creak of a hard top loud.
>>
>>14435343
So, Miata?
>>
>>14435845
Yes says the person posting poor quality photos and claiming the car is in perfect condition. Have you ever bought a used car before? Probably not you're just a typical miata faggot with zero experience in anything you talk about :^)
>>
>>14435859
it's Miata is fun not Miata is quiet and rattlefree
>>

Dude just leave, your shitposting isn't going to help OP or convince any miata lovers otherwise
