Chrysler killed off the Town & Country and revived the Pacifica name for this.

It actually looks really good, anon.

Don't get me wrong, I like the way it looks, it's just that the Pacifica was known as a shitbox the moment it left the dealers lot. The Town and Country is a respected household name.

yeah one that's now synonymous with MOR minivans
>>
Sexz
>>
Better looking than I thought was possible for a minivan.
>>
The og Pacifica wasn't a bad vehicle. Interior was bretty gud IMO as far as American crossovers. I still hold that it had the best build quality of all early to mid 2000s Chrysler vehicles.
>>
>>14217002
Really? Because the first thing I think of when I hear 'Town and Country' is shit.
Maybe it's the Chrysler bit that does that?
>>
>>14217130
The Pacifica was nice inside and out for the time, and really set the template for the 'crossover' segment that's since exploded. As I recall it was unique at the time in that it wasn't trying to look like an burly SUV, which were all the rage then.

What sunk it was simply price.
>>
>>14216982
Wow, it actually has windows and normal headlights.
>>
>>14217002
T&C is way too long of a name nowadays. Its one of the reasons they went with Pacifica
>>
>>14217141
The Town and Country has been the best selling minivan in the U.S. since it's introduction, it was good enough for VW to pay Chrysler to rebadge it and sell it as the Routan. Also, Stow N Go™ is GOAT.

>>14217002
The Pacifica sold reasonably well when it came out though.

>>14217130
Some of this too.
>>
>>14216982
almost a 300hp van. I dunno what that means though.
>>
>>14218139
That means it's quicker to 60 than an auto Toyobaru.
>>
>>14216982
A Kia?

This thing is really spectacular looking for a minivan.

Chrysler did a phenomenal job with the styling of this and the 200.
>>
>>14216982
I hate this. They just changed to name so faggots that prefer 3-row crossovers (practically minivans already) won't automatically scoff when someone suggests a town & country to them.
>>
>>14217002
>>14217141

When I hear "Town and Country" I think of a 50 year old man hauling his morbidly obese wife around.
>>
>>14218171
>dat rear 3/4 shot

Damn, literally the best looking minivan from that angle I've seen.
>>
Looks fantastic. Too bad its a Chrysler.
>>
>owned a 06 pacifica
>it was dope as fuck i dont care what anyone says
>my favorite car to drive with other people in the car
>6 person, 3 row, seating, all comfy as fuck
>4 person, 2 row, heated seats
>DVD player with inputs for Gamecube
>enough cargo space
>decent power from a family hauler
If only the AWD worked, it would have been amazing, and I would have kept it. But having literally one wheel drive forced my hand to selling it, because Colorado Winters weren't kind those years

AND NOW I WAKE UP TO THIS, A 2017 PACIFICA. I WAS SO EXCITED TO READ THAT HEADLINE
THEN ITS A MINIVAN. THE TOWN AND COUNTRY. FUCK THIS GAY EARTH.
>>
I'd still prefer a Honda Odyssey.

The negative 'd pillar' is absolutely inspired, but the whole design is a tour de force. Really can't find a single flaw.

This looks better than the large majority of crossovers.

It's like Honda and Toyota are messing with people as an experiment; seeing if their customers are so completely oblivious to aesthetics and slavish to their brand loyalty (muh reliability) that they'll buy cars made intentionally repulsive

>no sliding door
that's not a mini van
>>
>>14218284
true even though I think that's for the same target. Don't know why europe is not fond of sliding doors, we don't have many cars with that feature
>>
>>14218275
I think it's just one of those design cue things they're trying to force.
It's on clios and meganes too.
Personally I still prefer the previous gen for looks.
>>
>>14218284
It doesn't have to have sliding doors to be a minivan. Pilot, Highlander, the 3-row korean twins, Explorer, Traverse/Acadia/SRX, are all minivans.

3-rows, transverse V6, based on a modified car platform

>>14218266
Current one looks terrible enough.
>>
>>14218312
The defining characteristic of a "van" is the sliding door.

Whether it has a sliding door, or conventional doors (or something wacky like the Tesla X) they're still competing against each other as 3-row people haulers.
>>
>>14218329
It's weird that Honda didn't even try to disguise the rail for the door.

You really can't even see it on the new Pacifica unless you're looking for it.
>>
>>14218312
>Pilot, Highlander, the 3-row korean twins, Explorer, Traverse/Acadia/SRX, are all minivans.
Except they're all classified as SUVs.

>3-rows, transverse V6, based on a modified car platform
Except the first Minivan the Dodge Caravan and every coinciding minivan since has had a single or dual sliding doors. Also good luck going anywhere offroad in a Oddysey or Sienna that any of those SUVs you listed can go.

Going by your arbitrary bullshit we might as well just call SUVs and Crossovers tall cars/wagons.
>>
>>14218439
Suvs have real frames. Not unibodies. If it's based on a car it's a crossover
>>
>>14218457
>>
>>14218500
It was supposed to be a joke that posted a unibody SUV right?
>>
>>14218510
He's saying the (Grand) Cherokee is a "crossover" and always had been, which is ridiculous.
>>
>>14218500
Except that does have a frame. It's just welded to the body.
>>
>>14218230
the 06 pacifica looks nothing more than a lifted, normal door van
>>
>>14218266
those rims
>>
>>14217002
>The Town and Country is a respected household name.
Everyone knows it's just a Dodge Caravan with fake wood stickers, mate.
>>
>>14218635
But it's a Grand Caravan Anon.
>>
Is there going to be a new Caravan, or is FCA trying to move away from the Dodge/Chrysler rebadging? (doesn't seem like there's going to be a Dodge twin of the 200)
>>
>>14218822
They're trying to move away from that, from what I recall, Chrysler is supposed to be the everyman brand, and Dodge is supposed to be the performance brand.
>>
>>14218266
jesus fucking christ Honda
>>
When it comes to the minivans kia has the best looking one
>>
>>14216982
>it's just a name
If they had called it the "town & country" you'd be all faggy over it. It's just a fucking name. I think it looks awesome.
>>
>>14218171
the 200 doesn't look that great. This minivan looks ok - I wonder if fat loud americans with no teeth will still buy it.
>>
>>14218268
>>14218262

200 looks pretty good imo. Probably the best value in the segment for upper trim levels, although that segment is competitive as fuck.
>>
>>14219793
This looks like a minivan, unlike this new Pacifica which really succeeds in hiding what it is well.
>>
>>14218500

They will regret dropping the T&C name, I guarantee it

>>
>>14217002
Town & Country is a ridiculous name. What kind of vehicle name has a & in it?
