>own an autotragic appliance car
>satisfied with purchase
>start browsing /o/ and watching Initial D/Top Gear, and listening to Eurobeat
>suddenly want to downgrade to an old manual shitbox with no safety features or a sportsfag car with ridiculous insurance rates
>will probably waste a bunch of money on a moneypit hobby that will get me killed on a mountain road
Thanks /o/

How do I unsubscribe
As long as the car isn't FF you're good
FF is only for appliance
I kinda "want" the same thing; a decently sporty car that I can have a bit of fun with, but with the roads around here I'm looking more at Imprezas, Evos and maybe even a GT4 Celica
>>14166536
It's a Cobalt, so yes it's an FF. I'm sure an SS Turbo would be fun though.
>>14166441
Welcome to the hobby of cars. Set that wallet in kill and enjoy instant ramen.
I'm trying, but all of the "fun" cars are literal shitboxes that fall apart every other month and need tonnes of maintenance. Meanwhile my daily driver is a brand-new FF automatic Hyundai with 40mpg and a warranty.
>>14166550
You in western Canada? Roads are almost 3rd world tier, which is why I've been looking at pretty much the same thing. Shame the pre-X Evos were never sold here, I prefer them to the new Evos and Imprezas.
Sure, you can import, but getting parts isn't as easy.

Eastern Norway
Pretty much the exact same place, both people-wise, climate-wise and road-wise... although the taxation on cars here are waaaaay heavier
This is the price of the base-model Mustang GT here
>>14166441
Thats what happened to me so I bought a 97 Cobra.
>>14166599
>I could buy an Audi R8 for less in Canada than I could buy base Mustang in Norway
>>14166599
My God.
Now I know why Europeans have such a low opinion of American cars. They're the same price there as super high end cars.
>>14166618
I don't know how much a Cayman is in burgerland, but here in the Netherlands they start at 70k.
Pic related is a decently optioned Mustang GT.
>>14166635
Base Cayman here is $52000.
>>14166650
That's way over Mustang GT cash, right?
To be fair, not every European country is this bad. I'm pretty sure in Germany a base model Mustang GT is well under 50k.
No wonder you guys joke about Mustangs, holy shit.
They're supposed to be average priced cars, no more than a higher trim family sedan.
>>14166618
We really do like high-powered americans here in Scandinavia atleast, its just that they haven't been sold here for a very very long time, and outside of Sweden (maybe also Finland, not sure) importing one is both troublesome both in price and actually getting them approved due to "safety, emissions and specs"
Any actual fun/large car is expensive as fuck here, and normal cars are decently expensive aswell... a VW Golf with the 150hp 2.0TDI and 4Motion will cost you something like $45 000
Here is the cost of the same base-model Mustang GT in Sweden
>>14166666
poorfag moostang starts at 40 183,85 US-Dollar here in germany.
>>14166686
and a Cayman costs 55 806,6793 US-Dollar
>>14166666
Yup, here are the prices (dollar is the largest font)
Also; devilish quints
>>14166686
>>14166694
Yeah, this is what I mean. Some countries just have insane taxes on cars, usually pretty arbitrary ones, so it's really difficult to own anything that's not being pushed by the government.
>>14166666
For comparison.
The cheapest Mustang is the V6, at $25000/220822.50krone
>>14166673
Nobody but you said they'd be priced like that.
>>14166700
No wonder Americans think Euro cars are overpriced. That's a completely different price range right there.
I was in the same boat as you OP, so I bought a ute.
Now all I do is stare at it in admiration and spend half my salary on maintenance and keeping it looming good.
It was either this or a house I'd have to pay for for the rest of my life. I made the right decision.
>>14166700
Base-model EcoStang here in Norway
>>14166730
Funny, the EcoBoost is being shilled like a bitch here so it's significantly cheaper. Blame tax discounts for "eco-friendly" cars.
>>14166730
jesus christ this is insane, I won't complain about taxes in Germoney again.
Base EcoBoost is 37.000€ here
Fuck the Mustang. Why do all of you fuckheads keep on shilling that piece of shit?
>>14166666
CHECKED
>>14166725
Im pretty jelly. I was looking at buying and importing an XR6 turbo ute.
>>14166765
Just using it as a comparison, since it's available in both the USA and most of Europe, and illustrates the massive differences in tax on fun cars pretty nicely.
>>14166765
In this case the Mustang is merely a nice point of reference for showing price discrepancy between our continents and countries as its a car that people are familiar with and is now "finally" sold worldwide
Next time I'd suggest reading the thread instead of seeing the word "Mustang" and trying to be funny
>>14166784
Why are you so passive aggressive assdestroyed about it? Your dad didn't fuck your ass this morning?
>>14166867
Mostly because I'm a lonely guy who works in the tourism-industry and therefore bottles up a lot of frustration and hatred
