in australia it was constantly overshadowed by actual competition, one single year it struggled to win a championship... against outdated shit heaps like ae86 corolla, vk commodore, nissan gazelle, mitsubishi starion etc, and it still got beat up by the dr30 skyline in most the races. i guess one could argue the only reason it had success that year was because of the driver, who then went onto pilot nissans.
all the following years... no fucking chance for the M3 motorsports E30 (same car, different team)
