I'd say if you're in the market for a small and fun truck to keep an eye out for a Dodge rampage. They go for fairly cheap, usually Manuèl, and are super fun despite not really churning out Mach 1 speed... And if you feel like you gotta go fast, you can swap the engine with a La Baron engine, or a GLHS with a turbo to it.

It works surprisingly well for a small truck. Super aggressive cornering, and if you really really want rwd, the La Baron again is your solution. A whole engine /transmission swap and you'd be the talk of the town.

Or get a jeep Comanche. I hear they put out quite a bit of pep as far as small trucks go. You wouldn't be paying boomer/cholo tax either. You would be paying special snowflake jeep tax though.
