It's 2016 so let's list the worst cars of 2015.

>SuPoohru brz/frs for starters
>components derived from sedan models
>cheap tire and rim configurations for forced "customization"
>has KIA tier quality build and materials, KIA tier interior with faux leather accents
>heavier by nearly a ton of the model it was supposed to be a revival of
>looks nothing like the model it was supposed to be a revival of
>has slower lap times than all it's competion
>outer shell was literally designed by Scion
>boxer engine makes random noises and is prone to failure
>>
yeah definitely worst car of the year. fucking hyundai elantras are better cars than that.i would kill myself if I had to drive something made by toyota, let alone a rwd car. even my honda accord could smoke that shit and would handle better with an experience drive such as myself

Weren't the engines unable to not overheat after 30 minutes or so of track like driving?
>>
>>14150539
Not to mention the one that blew up after 500 miles. And the one that blew up after 70 miles. And the one that blew up after 6 miles.

I'm pretty sure the overheat limp mode after 15 minutes is actually a built in feature.

Put the ND miata on the list.

>29k club sport is barely faster than a 24k FRS
>suspension is still soggy from the factory and requires aftermarket upgrades
>ugly as fuck
>will not have the tuning potential of the turbo Fiata

Mazda had the chance to make something legendary, but decided to make a modern hairdresser car.
>>
>>14150539
No, because they do not overheat. They're tuned as conservatively as possible for the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty targets.

>450lb

At least you tried.
>>
>>14150641
Excuse me.

In the interest of correctness: The short ton is 2,000 pounds. The metric ton is 2,204 pounds (that is, 1,000kg). The long ton is 2,240 pounds.
>>
>>14150617
>Mazda had the chance to make something legendary, but decided to make a modern hairdresser car.

>Mazda had a chance to potentially alienate the already small but loyal miata buyer base by appealing to the even smaller enthusiast market that can't buy them new anyway and chose to make what will actually sell cars instead of appealing to poorfag bench racers
>>
>>14150663
Metric tons are 2204 lbs? That doesn't make any sense. I thought metric was supposed to be logical but its clearly just yuropers trying to be special snowflakes and not using the superior and logical 2000 lb America unit.

Great thread, OP.

But I have a suggestion. Instead of starting stealth BRZ/FRS/GT86 hate threads as you've been doing for weeks (months?), why not make a thread titled:

>Toyobaru Hate General - /thg/

Then you wouldn't have off topic C7 bashing and whatever other bullshit that would distract from your hatred for the twins.

My Z pisses in your FRS's intake, fuck off queer.
Go ahead and benchrace. I've owned more vehicles than you've seen years, and I was thoroughly underwhelmed by the FRS. The interior is 90s KIA tier too.

They are what got me interested in sports coupes again, but they are a letdown in reality. And I am a Toyota fanboi. The 370z blew the FRS away in the feels dept, that's why I bought one instead.

The 370z has Jap class with muscle acceleration, and the handling characteristics you'd expect from a traditional two seat rwd coupe making 330+hp at the crank.

You fell for the meme, while people who actually like cars and driving chose any number of quicker sharp handling cars in the price range.
>>

/thread

Op and there other faggots here think they know more then the entire world's motoring journalists who have spent 2015 raving about how good the brz/86 and nd mx5/miata are. Yes they could be faster, but then they would no longer be affordable, which goes against the whole idea of them
>>
>>14150705

Poor bench racer detected.

Maybe in 20 yrs u can buy an 86 and slap an eBay Chinese turbo on it. Then the car will be faster for you, even though in stock form the car is more then fast enough for your mediocre driving skills. Stick to red light racing your shitheap fwd Pontiac gxp.

The Supoohru Brz isn't out of reach for most people. Car enthusiasts don't want it even at its current depreciated value.
>>
>>14149978
Here's why your bait is stupid

>SuPoohru brz/frs for starters
>components derived from sedan models
Repeating your bullshit doesn't make it true.
>cheap tire and rim configurations for forced "customization"
While the tires could have been better out of the factory, its not a huge pain to replace them yourself. Stock wheels are attractive, and if those components are cheap then they've made the right choice in using them to deliver the car at a profitable yet affordable pricepoint for a niche product.
>has KIA tier quality build and materials, KIA tier interior with faux leather accents
>heavier by nearly a ton of the model it was supposed to be a revival of
>>14150641
>looks nothing like the model it was supposed to be a revival of
Should it? It's a spiritual sucessor, not a direct continuation. If you want cars that look exactly like they did in the 80s, you probably pleasure yourself to the thoughts of the PT Cruiser's retro bullshit.
>has slower lap times than all it's competion
Except it doesn't. The closest car in terms of both price and design philosophy is the Miata, which is only faster when you spec it out with upgrades which put it in a different price tier than the twins. This also depends on the track.
>outer shell was literally designed by Scion
Who cares who designed it, it's a 10/10 on the exterior alone
>boxer engine makes random noises and is prone to failure
Source required. I don't think you actually know anything about these cars.
>>
>>14150708
1000 kg is 1 MG

Why would it ever be called a metric ton?
>>
>>14153385
Because it's a unit of mass roughly comparable to the short ton (which is technically weight), but accepted for use with the metric system. In the United States, use of the word "ton" by itself means the short ton, and so to specify 1,000kg (or a megagram if you like) we say "metric ton".

You're a pretty pale imitation of the original Ben Summers.
>>
>>14151624
I didn't say it's what I would do. It's just their reasoning. I also don't think they 'blow up'. I've heard of maybe 3 failed cars. That sucks, but it's statistically irrelevant.

Tonnage isn't even a metric unit. It makes zero fucking sense to describe something as a "metric ton" when a unit of the exact same value already exists.
>>

I so desperately need to snag one for the garage before they end the entire line. Every time I talk about needing to get one since its going away my wife gets all cunty and "I told you so" since its been her favorite car forever. Like toy cars on her work desk and wallpaper on her pc and shit.

And I was gonna buy one in 2016, but bought a Z/28 this year instead because I've always wanted a bitchin' Camaro. Now I need to stop drinking and wasting money so I can...uhh... waste money.

Because KIA isn't pretending to be something it's not. This thread is for those cars that had a huge let down with delivery. Shitting on econoboxes because they are econoboxes doesn't make them worst cars of the year.

If an econobox is intended to be an econobox and it turns out to be a econobox then it's not valid for he worst cars of the year list.
