Yes

how are they compared to e30s? and is the listing i posted a good deal?
>>14146557
wait this is actually a 528e

Only a good deal if you can get it for 4, or less. That price will get you a clean 535i of the same year.
Compared to an E30: Bigger, more comfortable than an E30. Just as reliable, the ETA is a timing belt rather than chain, the engines are good for over 300k.

Okay im going to go look at this car today, what should i look out for? Are 528es even worth mid 4000s?
pls help this is urgent
>>14147587
at 4000 you should be looking at 535i's

Well, the e-s are rarer and if well kept, low-ish mileage, certainly worth a little money. It's not as if they will depreciate.

This.
The engine is too underpowered. Definitely not worth 4k
>>14149789
no 535is in my area that dont have 300,000 miles
it seems like its been taken care of very well, and eh already did a bumper swap that I was planning on doing, and it comes with a bike rack I could sell. what about ~4500?

Ettas are geared for mileage rather than speed. If you want to drive fast you should get a different Beemer, if you want a neat but unremarkable classic dd they're great.

The M30 is a very durable engine... There are plenty with over 500k.
Also, if you want something that's as slow as an ETA, you should just go for a W123 diesel Mercedes, much better car, more reliable, the little things that might be wrong with it are less irritating than the BMW would have, and far more durable overall.
Coming from someone who has owned all 3.

looks like shit. Typical
