I'd have to say a communicative chassis. Something incredibly numb like modern crossovers are soulless hunks of junk because you don't feel like you're driving a car in them. They just feel like a videogame.
>>
one is when someone doesnt like a car but doesnt have a valid reason so he makes up some euphoric garbage

the other is for autists to describe cars they like

>>
>>14144583
OK, obviously old-as-fuck stuff is going to be shit, but as for what's out there right now, 80s, 90s, early 2000s stuff, even the commuter cars had some semblance of steering feel, predictable or nonexistent TCS, etc. outside of some landbarges.

I'm not familiar with that car in particular, was it known for numb steering? I think you're misinterpreting my earlier posts.
>>
>>14144567
Yeah but an older one you don't see as often anymore. Souless cars are the ones you see on the street ALL the time, and cheap cars that people buy that usually have little to no automotive interest. Kinda like the difference between a fudd and a gun enthusiast. Just a bit different. Usually souless cars are mass produced, and depreciate in value at an alarming rate. Back then chevy Novas were shit, and they were seen everywhere as shit boxes(can be said about A Lot of cars), now they're a bit rarer to see on the road so they are regarded as collecter cars to some.
>>
No Sound deadening, low center of gravity, hydraulic power steering with the exception of older eps systems modern ones feel like shit, direct or close manual transmission. Tight and rigid chassis, a lively engine that revs reliably, hydraulic clutch none of that DCT or electronic clutch, cable accelerator not drive by wire

Just to sum some of it what feels right

The soul of the car is the motor, the driver is the mind and the body is, well the body. If you're mindful about how you take care of the soul then the soul will give you enlightenment. If you take care of the body then the body will help you get the puss.
>>
The soul kicks in around 3500 rpm
>>
>>14144504
A car that was made and designed with love and passion instead of some methodology based numbers and efficiency game.

Like the Scionpoohru. The original has the soul, the new brz/frs was made using a numbers game and it suffered visibly. No passion or love went into that car. The new Toyota SFR looks like it has a real soul.
>>
>>14145131
If the sciopoopoo was made eh numbers in mind it could at least be faster than the new miata, but it's poopoo slow
>>
>>14144573

>>

This pretty much. When i look back i realize how much autism Takumi has. Gets kissed and doesn't realize the girl is in love with him, unable to pay attention to something, unable to feel attached to anything, does a shit sport because his new bitch likes it, etc.
>>
>>14145162
So why does the old 86 and the new one look nothing alike despite being a revival and the new one weighs a shit ton more? They used the name, the hype and love of an old car to market a pigfat "new" car that is a rehash of sedan parts with a slapped on bodykit.
>>
>>14145230
WOW ITS ALMOST AS IF THEY CANT TRY A NEW DESIGN WITH THE SAME BASIC CONCEPT WITHOUT BEING INSULTED!
>>

Furthermore, how is it not a revival when it's a cheap 2+2 that's fairly light with an N/A 4-banger up front and skinny stock tires, just like the original?
>>
>>14145258
>meme

You're the idiot who thinks a whole unibody is a bodykit and a rear end is a frame. Pretty sure I do know what those words actually mean.
>>
>>14145298
They literally did it because they wanted to shave off costs, which last time I recalled are part of the number game. They dropped a shitty engine into it as well, but keep ignoring all the engine problems the car has, that's fine.
>>
>>14145317
>implying anyone said that

Next thing you're going to say is that a frame is a chassis and a chassis is a frame. Have fun trying to redefine what a chassis is no one cares about the lies you have to tell yourself to sleep at night.
>>
>>14145319
What engine problems? Some little injector thing that's fixed with a tune?

And the tires and engine were quite clearly picked as platforms for owners to build off of, not benchracing, which is most definitely THE numbers game which you are now backpedaling as costs. You can do what you want with F/I or whatever for the engine, and they give you a nice set of daily driver tires but leave the performance wheels and tires to you. Opposite of benchracing from factory, opposite of the numbers game.
>>
>>14145319
>because they wanted to shave off costs

...which is a valid reason?

After accounting for inflation, the new BRZ is just as cheap 80's/90's FR econoboxes it's tributing.
>>
>>14145328
Regardless of that whole shitfit, a unibody is not a bodykit and a rear end is not a frame. You clearly didn't know that based on your previous posts.
>>
>>14145332
Nice try with the whole backpedaling comment. Imagine a world where they put decent tires on the car, then imagine you can still change them out. Now realize they put the cheapest shittiest tires and wheels that you can still change out. Seems like you're backpedaling and making lame excuses as to why they cheaped out on components. Not to mention build quality and materials are literally KIA tier. Someone have the video of the typical Scionpoohru owner? You know the one where a coworker filmed a a gay asian guy showing him his new gay mobile.
>>
>>14145336
Except the bodykit is literally the bodykit, the chassis is the chassis and the frame is the frame. The car is built for looks on a poorly fitted frame on a sedan chasis.
>>
>>14145298
Honestly, the only big issue I have the new 86 (aside from legally required safety features that add 700lbs) is that they made it look like a purpose-built sports car instead of a "sporty" car that looked kinda cheap and had a liftback.

It's not just the car, it's your perspective as well. A car that has become worthless and uninteresting after a few years of owning is what I would call soulless. If you see a 15 year old car in decent condition on the street and you turn your head even though you know what it is, chances are this car has soul to you.

"soul" is generally defined by history and purpose. For example the AE86 has soul because it had its own popular racing series that doridori started his career on, and it was used extensively as a tuner/street racing car by young guys with a passion for cars during an era of car culture romance, the japanese 90s. This history gives you feelings about the car that go beyond its parts. That is its soul.

As a former lover of the K, I can hold it up as a great example of what I feel soul is in a car and how it can be lost.

>Be the 80s
>Chrysler is getting fucked by Japan and Ford
>Need dat Iacocca
>K platform is born, a body needing a soul
>Chrysler engineers get all over turbos
>Fuck you SVO
>Jew accountants insist on non-turbo packages
>Dumbfucks buy tons of nonturbo Ks
>Eventually turbo is eliminated completely in favor of boring cheap Japanese v6 blocks

...and that's how K lost its soul, and why so many people think K never had one to start with. God bless the SRT line for bringing back Chrysler's great turbo legacy and fuck everybody who doesn't appreciate it.
>>
>>14144504
>marketing
All cars have "soul". Just faggots use this non argument to diminish cars they don't like. Just because something isn't built to be cheap as fuck or isn't a sports car doesn't mean it doesn't have soul. Even my sisters shitty neon had a soul. A soul of an old bitch that would piss and moan and work when it wanted to. My f150 has a lay soul. Just lumbers around like an old lab, he's always there and dependable, but he's not excitable.

>hurrr da GTR has da computers it has no soul!!!!! so it sucks!!!!!!
I've driven a ton of the cars that /o/ thinks "don't have a soul" and trust me, they are wrong.

A lot of the time the word simply means "I like this car for a bunch of subtle, largely subjective reasons that I'm either unwilling or unable to put words around".

Hence, it sees a lot of use by car reviewers who are too lazy to do their damn jobs and articulate their feelings.
