I got a flat tire on my awd car and currently can't afford to replace all 4 tires for a matter of weeks. Can I run a same sized one/spare until then?

Grab a used one with similar wear?
Go for it, what's the worst that can happen
>>14143708
Yes why not? Aslong as its same size you should be fine unless 3 tires have 80/100 thread left and the spare has like 40/100 thread. Even then nothing really bad happens just a bit uneven wear. And weird traction.
...yes, of course. It's like running any car with a donut. If you have slipping differentials obv your performance will suck worse if the spare has garbage traction, but a spare is always a possibility on a car, and should be treated as such

Ill try it.

Fuk up literally everything like the wheels, tranny? Everything online points to this conclusion

>can't afford to replace all 4 tires
Do you drive some kind of supercar?
>>14143756
Poor college student with old awd car. Reading online says you need 4 new tires for equal tread etc, last time I did that was around 600 dollars.
replace the other three tires first, then the one you got a flat on

I don't know about him, but my tires run $236 a piece. Replacing 4 of them unexpectantly can create havoc.
Have your flat tire repaired?
>>14143767
Oh my child, you have much to learn.
A. Repair the flat
B. Buy one new tire and find a place that shaves tires to bring the tread within spec
C. Buy a set of used tires
D. Buy a set of new tires

Thank you, helpful.
How long can you ride on a spare?
>>14143868
Those little donut spares are usually only good for ~100mi I think

Its true you know, my AWD 1998 explorer requires all 4 to be equal tread or pretty damn close to equal.

That's what they're rated for but you can get thousands if not ten's of thousands if you're batshit crazy
