How come you g/o/ys never talk about the gt4, specifically the st205?
>0-60 in 5.3 sec
>awd
>turbo
>incredible rally heritage
And can be bought for under 15k.
>>
Because if you can get a ST205 you can pay the same money for a better, way lighter, quicker WRX STI or Evo.

Also Alltracs/GT4s make Z32s look easy to work on.
>>
>>14118728
Which WRX STI under 15k is way lighter and faster? Also good luck tracking down any evo that isn't a IX or X and isn't modded to hell

If you're in any place GC8 WRX STis are available (See: JP/UK/AUS/NZ/CAD) they're on average $5000-8000. At most $10,000 for a mint late model Type R/RA

Same with Evo IVs (the most common ones), $5000-7000. Evo 5-6s are a little more.

Americans never got ST205s, Evos I-VII, or WRX STi so this argument is moot.

ST205s also have unique suspension bits (Super-Strut suspension) that tends to be expensive to fix when it wears out, also not shared with regular Celicas (only Super-Strut models IE SSI/SSII). The ST205s as a whole tend to have a lot of rare unique parts that break (intercooler pumps for example) and the motors are kind of just jammed in there like a Z32.

>tfw no cashmere yellow sti

life is suffering why dont they make more pale yellow cars
>>
>>14118774
Never got sti, what?
>>
>>14118722
it's as heavy as a supra, but that makes it pretty much indestructable
>>
>>14118774
>Americans never got ST205s, Evos I-VII, or WRX STi so this argument is moot.
Interesting. We have all of those in Ireland.
I agree, parts would be hard to come by if something breaks on the st205
>>
>>14118783
*Version 1-7 WRX STi, or GC8 and GDB "Bug eye"

Should've clarified

Amusing I just noticed America only got the version 8 and newer of both the Evos and STis.
>>
>>14118722
Because the ST165-ST185 are slower but better.

The ST205 was never famed as a good rally car
>>
>>14118722
>And can be bought for under 15k....
.........if you can find one
>>
>>14118774
>only SSS
you can put suspension from normal celica
>waterpump from intercooler
you can always convert to FIMC and when you do this you get much more space under hood to work on it.

i agraee, it is heavy but 3sgte is amazing engine. It is just 2JZ with 4 cylinders (even bolt pattern is identical like in 2JZ you can put 3sgte in supra stright away)

And looks amazing
>>
>>14118722
I almost bought one once, got an Evo 5 instead.
Also $15k is way too much for your average GT-Four. $7-10k sure

I like them. If I was staying here longer I'd have picked this one up.

>$4500 USD

>>14121442
Is it hard to get Mitsubishi factory parts?
>>
>>14121468
Not terribly.
Much easier to find stuff for an Evo than a GT-Four at least
>>
>>14121485
So an old Evo 5 is daily drivable? Here in the US even mundane parts for their older vehicles, including flagships, are ridiculously hard to get. I think it's more the fault of MMNA than MMC.
>>
>>14121453
>dat celica
>>
>>14121495
poor thing is a rusted pile of shit at this point
>>
>>14121490
The Mitsu dealer where i'm from has parts pretty well covered, especially since they still fully service and warranty GTOs

I drove my Evo every day for the time I had it.
It's obviously not the most comfortable or fuel efficient but it's just as practical as any other Lancer

>>14118722
Maybe because no one but anglos give a shit about RHD shitboxes and you can't find a LHD one ?

The ST205 looks girly even though its obviously the fastest.

I would much prefer the previous gen with popup headlights, the ST185.

Agreed.

I don't understand how people deal with 6th gen Celicas. I got an ST184, and we've had moments together & we've learned a lot together.
Plus those pop-ups
