Well obviously the car is no gem, it really needs a bit of everything.
Turbo was burning oil, brakes need to be bled, clutch bled, new vacuum lines and belts. It's 30 years old.

If you can see what the car needs and aren't afraid of the work, and have to means to completely the work in a timely manner where 1 issue isn't going to take years to fix, then I'd say your fine.
I'm comfortable tearing out this engine if I need to so this stuff doesn't scare me. But a year ago, I'd never have this car running straight.

In the end, it's still a Toyota. With all the shit wrong with this 30 year old turbo car it started up and pulled it's 3600 pound ass onto the trailer. The mr2 especially is literally just a mid engine Carolla. Your hardest issues are engine bay clearances and bleeding the cooling system. If you're naturally aspirated you should be fine. Just make sure the problem list doesn't scare you essentially.

This supra has seen much better days but if feel for the poor car, the issues don't scare me though. If they scare you I mean that's a good indicator you're over your head. Either get help or find another car. Or if you're not afraid to tear it apart yourself go for it.

Basic maintenance and thorough inspection when buying is really key. Make sure you know as many issues as possible before purchase. Was the car neglected? Lack of oil changes will kill a car. Check compression if you can. Research issues you know of and see if you're comfortable paying for the parts and comfortable doing that work to fix it.

It's going to break, even a Toyota. It's 30 years old and shit just wears out.
